While driving car goes into traction mode...

Hey guys...new to the forums here so id like to begin saying wsup!!

so to present my problem which has been getting me annoyed as of lately...i recently bought my 2003 Mazda 6 in the beginning of the year with 75k miles on it...went to PA to get it and drove it back to NYC. car seem to be fine; ran well, smooth, gears shifted nicely, nothing of any concern mechanically etc...no engine light on the dashboard, clean title yada yada yaa...so you get the point car is in very good condition given the miles it has on it and so forth...
from then till now id maintain it pretty good..change the oil every 3k...wasnt sure what the previous owner was using as motor oil, type of gas he was putting in- nothing of any history from the vehicle...i began putting in Mobil W10-40, filling the tank with Octane 93 every time it would just about reach the reserve and thats about it...might of changed the oil 3 or 4x with same oil until my last change which instead i used Mobil +75k W10-30 (no synthetic)...

so thats a little brief history about the time ive had the vehicle to give you guys which im hoping can help me with the dilemma im about to present..the car now has 90k...since maybe june i began encountering problems with the car:
first- check engine light would show up one minute, next minute go away and it was like that for a week..i thought maybe it was a sensor triggering it so didnt pay much attention to it until eventually it just stayed on..took it to Auto Zone to get it checked and they told me that it was the Oxygen or vacuum sensor (cant really remember but something like that)..
2-my RPM needle wasnt stabilizing after id put it into neutral...instead of it being around 1RPM without moving at all it would ref between 1 and 2 RPM's...this was annoying because if i was in traffic while being in first gear...you know when your moving very slow in first gear but allowing the car to ride out smoothly until eventually it was coming to a complete halt then put it into neutral-- instead would begin to jerk the way a beginner would jerk the car when first learning how to drive stick.
soo these are of the least because i took it to a friends mechanic and he seem to solve the problem by changing the some part which i forgot the name of...but it allowed the transfer of air flow, very small tube like thing...soon as he changed that, the needle would remain stable and the car ran smoothly when left in first gear and going very slow...woOohOoOo i was happy again

now heres my next problem that boggles me and when i explain it to my friend he cant even imagine what it is so im hoping someone on here does...while im driving, the car can be in 1st, 2nd, 3rd,4th, 5th gear and out of nowhere it would suddenly goes into traction control...the traction light on the dashboard lights up, the TCS light as well pops up and the car slows down tremendously...i dont swerve or anything and then the speed slowly diminishes...the first time, i had to pull over. turn the car off and when i turned it back on, it was back to normal...this happened like once about a month ago but for the last 2 weeks it began increasing in the times it does it and today it was just going crazy doing it every so often...pressing the TCS button doesnt do anything, ive tried holding the TCS button down for seconds and nothing...it remains that way- only way to make it go away is by turning the car off and back on...instead of pulling over everytime, id put the car into neutral while its moving on the road, turn it off, turn it back on and put it into the appropriate gear...

so yea thats my issue with the car that ive been having and im boggled as to what it can be...would anyone have a clue?? id HIGHLY appreciate any suggestions and anything of any kind...since im no car genius.

A sensor on the car is being made to believe that one or more wheels on the car is traveling faster than the rest, and it's trying to correct the problem (although a problem doesn't really exist). Basically, the TCS thinks you're entered a skid or you've lost traction in an acceration event.

My best guess is that 1) a wheel sensor is going bad or 2) a tire is low on pressure, which is sending the wrong information to the computer.

thx for the reply..so i checked my air pressure on all wheels and they were slightly off...im supposed to be running on 32 and they were on 28-30...i was hoping that would of been the case for my dilemma but not necessarily...i continued to have the issue today...it prob must be a sensor or something..guess ima have to take it to a mazda dealer =\

it's not air preassure. All tires are the same yes? Tire wear roughly the same? Get a flat tire at some point and only replace one tire?

I'm still leaning towards sensor.

yeah, its problaby the steering angle sensor. they had to replace mine (on my MS6..)
