FM kits are the s***, don't get me wrong. But $5k+ is a lot to swallow at 1 time. Especially since i only paid $4k for the car itself.

With the Greddy, i paid $1200, plus full exhaust, and a Bipes, and I'm out about $2k. and I get ~150hp.

Like I said....I was lucky and got mine used...but some people like to 'pay for what you get' and some people can't be imaginative like greddy owners.

I'm sure *I* could build a kit..but it sure is nice to make one payment and a weekend later have 220hp to the wheels :-) ..and tech support too.

I actually bought my 1.6 with the hope of buying the greddy kit b/c I was on a tight budget but when the used FM kit came along I couldn't resist :-)

Where there's a will---there's a way.

You either have more time, money, or skill.....

My friend has an AVO T28 Miata. It ran a 13.3 on 195 series Azenis a few months ago...9lbs of boost. It's easily a 12 second car.

Can you please give me some more information on your friend.

I would like to know if he's pulled anything for weight..and what are the specs on his turbo?

I'd love to run a 12.9 by switching out my turbo...but I'd hate to lose daily driveability.

I can literally stomp the gas and disappear or jump 5 car-lengths on MOST cars...i'd hate to stomp the gas and sit and wait for the car to spool up :-)

-Mike, anxiously waiting for the 12second roadmap (spin)

The car is for sale on Ebay right now. He's going to build a V8 Miata. There is a good list of parts on the Ebay ad.

PSI is not what you should be looking at since it is not directly proportionate to HP. The size and model of the turbo makes a huge difference in the ratio of power/PSI. A t3/T4 will make just as much HP at 6 PSI as T25 will make at 10psi. Miata blocks are very strong. 300 HP is no problem at all if it is tuned correctly.
