which short shifter is better???

what is the better shifter to buy... the kartboy s.s or the TWM short shifter... they are both pretty close ain price but i dunno if the TWM comes with bushings like u can get with the kartboy.

thanks

The TWM does not come with bushings. I'd go with Kartboy, but that's just me.

I've had my kartboy ss and bushing installed for a couple days and love it. :D

I've been going through this debate for the past week or so. The TWM has 2 generations.

1st gen comes with standard rubber bushings between the shaft and the linking arm to the tranny.

2nd gen comes with ball bearings instead.

However, neither generation comes with the bushings between tranny and linking arm. You can either stick with stock or go with KB.com.

I'm going to go with gen1 and KB bushings as I've tried that combo and happy with it. Not sure if the ball bearings are worth the extra money.

that was my other option goin wih the kartboy bushings and the ball bearing twm shifter i my go that route i think the TWM shifter looks a lil beter made and the ball bearings should make it nice and smooth.... some of my buddies have ball bearings in there civics and damn does it make a different

I think the ball and socket of the B&M is unmatched by any of the others, not to mention the beauty of the no weld, machined stainless arm - It's so tight I've never felt the need to install a bushing between the trans and the shifter arm.

B&M has been making shifters for a very long time, and they know which features (like aluminum ball and socket) are important to performance and longevity. I wouldn't trade mine for 3 of any of the others

coo
im going with the B&M with some kart boy bushings

i just dont know about kart boy... their lever doesnt appear too pleasing to the eyes like the B&M. and their shift knobs are some what awkward looking so i think im going to stick with good ol B&M.

Why does it have to be pleasing to the eyes? You can't see it when installed.

I'm buying that cause it my favorite color. Wait! the B&M is Chrome... what a dilemma

Get what work! personal pref is Kartboy. Great price and good throw. I'm sure B&M is good to, but just because it is chrome or pretty doesn't mean it will work better.

I'm planning on going TWM with Kartboy bushings. TWM also has the heat shield spacers which is a nice touch instead of having to bend the shield. Here's my photoshopped pic of different brands along side of the shifter. I was trying to get a general idea of shaft heights and below the pivot point.

All you have to do for the spacers is go buy a $.50 set of washers. :D The B&M and TWM look awful long to me...
