Which ECU?

Hey all,

Going to buy a Mazda 3, but the person who is going to sell it already started parting it and has sold the ECU...

There are 4 different part numbers for a 2006, 2.3L AT hatch, where should I find more info before I go to the yard and choose the wrong ECU version?

Wait, he was parting it out and now you plan to put it back on the road? Man, there are easier ways, I hope you're getting it for next to nothing. I think many salvage yards these days are pretty sophisticated when it comes to identifying the correct P/N. But you can always ask the parts guy at your local Mazda dealer, too.

Yeah, its a killer deal and only missing a hatch and ecu

Called Mazda and they tracked down the ECU I needed. Gotta say, compared to other dealers, these guys have great support.

In any case, they also told me that I may not need to reflash, but if I do its about $110 to reflash.

In case anyone else needs to know, I found the part here: L37W18881B. Not exactly cheap, but I guess it depends on what you need it for.
