try autozone. sometimes they sale used and rebuilt engines.

Bought mine from speedcircuit was about $1300 shipped to the shop. Been running it for about 2 months now with no problems knock on wood. You can get any used fsde with coil pack ignition there are some good write ups on here regarding what will have to be pulled off your current motor.

100% serious. wen my focus motor went out a few years back the shop said they searched for 2 weeks trying to find a motor for my car. so i went to autozone and they looked up on their program a used motor for me. 800 dollars got me a good motor with around 30,000 miles on it. people dont think to check there because they wouldnt think that was logical. but hey, they do sell them.
