I read that they are seein them at some type of port in Canada..but i thought they were built in Japan?

97% assembled in japan. the rest of the stuff is put on at the ports. spare tire, etc.

the turbos and all necessary harware are installed at us ports...wings..bumpers..exhast...stereo...is all installed at the port as well...

my dealer said they get all the non specific parts done in japan, then when it is shipped in somewhere on the east coast(cant remember} all the extra special MSP stuff is put on, Then all the final tuning is done at the actual dealerships, and they get paid directly from Mazda Corp for these individual adjustments.

There is no tuning done becides the stuff put on at the port's to make it a mazdaspeed, the car we drive is a bone stock protege with better factory parts. Manufactured in japan in a assembly line full of robots and s***. The specifically chosen Mazda master techs put on the suspension, stereo, turbo kit, (ever noticed how it said turbo kit in the list of stuff when you signed the papers to buy the car) and body kit like side skirts, when we get mazda 6's I put the side skirts on as a option sometimes. You are drivind a hooked up protege
