Does anybody know if there is a aftermarket radiator out there that will fit the stock MSP radiator location? I know there are the p5 rads out there that peeps are using but you gotta have the ION FMIC kit to use those. Are there any out there that utilize the stock rad space on the msp? or will any be available soon? thanks

I doubt anyone will make one because of the extremely limited demand. You have to think how many people get FMICs & use a P5 size radiator (which has lots of aftermarket options). Most of the remaining MSP owners probably don't care enough to upgrade their radiator. Therefore, it really isn't profitable for any company to manufacture a replacement for the stock unit.

actually i read this on corksports website a little bit ago. they sell the AWR for $495, here is the description they have on the website.

All aluminum, bolt in replacement radiator is available for the 1995-2002 Mazda Protege'. this version is a great improvement over the stock design, when used in most racing applications at near stock power levels. Feature a fin design which is optimized over the stock design, providing superior cooling benefits.
For MAZDASPEED or turbocharged applications, there is also a thick core option, which is 6" narrower to allow for the placement of an intercooler or oil cooler beside the radiator.

also, i dont think it will be a big problem with the stock radiators, i was looking at the stock MSP radiator and it looks thicker then the stock protege radiators, not sure been a while since i looked under the hood of my mp3.

If you go to Turbohoses.com you will see that they are currently working on a better stock intercooler for the MSP. No release date as of yet. So maybe they will also make a stock radiator in the future. http://turbohoses.com/MSP.htm Second one down.

srmotorsports.com has one for the protege, but im not sure if it will fit msp.
If it's for a regular Protege, it won't fit an MSP (unless it says otherwise).

Why do you need one? Honestly - ive yet to see a stock car (or modded that is) that needs a better radiator-

Your just wasting your money-

better cooling for the engine. plus I am planning on running 10psi daily and the extra cooling on my motor wouldnt hurt none. Probably better for the motor in the long run. Probably wont get one untill I do more serious modding though.

But your right the stock rad should hold up just fine.
