i have 17' +43 offset wheels and i am thinking of wheel spacers so i dont rub, is this a bad idea or not ?need some suggestions.

If Sir Nuke hasn't answered you, better ask wheel pros. Good luck.

well here I am....MY personal feelings on wheel spacers are....they are a BAD idea.....

but if you want a real pro's opinion.....send a message to Richie and ask him. his handle is ARD MP5.

my guess is that the wheel spacers will make a bad situation worse.

the stock wheels should have 50mm+ offset. the wheels you have are 43mm+, so they stick further out by 7mm, maybe rubbing on the fender lip. add a 5mm spacer, and the wheels are sticking out even further.

i could have it backwards, but i don't think so. i'm assuming you're talking about rubbing on the outside against the fender lip, not on the inside against the suspension struts.

no my new rims are a+41 offset ,they are too deep into the wheel well ,not sticking out,you had it backwards. so if i add spacers it will put them closer to the fender lip ,which is what i want and away from the strut.

go to the search engine of your choice...say YAHOO....and put in "wheel offset" and read.....the more positive the offset the farther away the mounting flange is from the center of the wheel....if there is 0 offset...the flange is dead in the center of the wheel...if the offset is positive...its farther away, which moves the wheel INTO the wheel well.....if its NEGITIVE it moves it out....

HOWEVER, different manufacturers of wheels also describe offset as YOU have....there is no standard....

if you REALLY want the hot poop on your wheels....do what I suggested in the PM I sent you.

thanks guys for your help, this is confusing cause it seems everyones answer is different, but i think i get it now. thank god for this forum.
