wheel spacers

anyone ever considered bumping out the stock ms3 wheels a bit? when the car is lowered even the slightest bit, the negative offset is really highlighted with the negative camber. it'd be nice to bring the offset out just 5, maybe even 10mm to improve the look and of course widen the track.

eibach makes the spacers; i just wish longer studs was as easy as it is with say...VW ; )

to be honest i don't even know if 5mm would require longer studs. some measurements would have to be done to see how much threading would take place with the spacers in place.

just picked up a pair of 5 mm spacer from wheeldude....10 bucks each.... according to them....3/5 mm is good without longer studs.....next size up 8 mm longer studs is needed!!

my buddy who drives a rsxs had 8mm spacers on his for a while with some white ITR'S without out the longer studs....worked fine. sooo maybe not such a problem??

Maybe you should fix the camber if that's the problem.

And yes, the car will have a wider track, but now the wheel is not inline with how the suspension geometry was designed, putting undue stress on the studs and hub bearings, not to mention how it may affect the dynamics.

good to see that people understand that suspension is a geometry system that is designed to work a specific way.

Just like in an equation, if you modify one aspect, you modify the equation...

I was hoping someone would bring this up. Not a good idea to change the load on the wheel bearings. Perhaps more so in a vehicle that can corner like this one.

Putting 5mm wheels spacers is just making the wheels a +48 offset thats all. most people buy wheels with thaty offset anyway.
