Can you guys recommend any shops in Chicago or the western burbs that do a quality job refinishing wheels at a decent price? Mine have some road rash I can't bear to look at anymore...

Thanks!

Ehhhhh Wheels of America.

My story:

Leaving Strats one night last spring, hit pothole in rain:

Wheel is ******.

So, I call these guys up. They say "yea, we'll fix your wheel!" and I'm all like "**** yeah!"

So, I drive down after work, drop off my wheel, pay my $130- they say "come back tomorrow it'll be all fixed up".

Head back down there the next day and head inside. They take me in the back and show me my wheel. It looks great. It looks brand new. I'm impressed. Guy says "Here ya go. Have a nice day."

"But what. Where's my tire?"

"...what tire?"

"The tire that was on my wheel."

"...oh. ...well, come in the back and help me find it."

So we search for about fifteen minutes only to deduce that the tire is not there.

I later find that it's on a truck being delivered out in Buffalo Grove. So... there's whole big, huge production. They promise to deliver it to my house the next day... doesn't show. It ends up taking them 5 days to get it to me.

Long story short... really good quality of work- price and they guarentee their s***... but very disorganized, unprofessional bunch of guys.

North of Chicago, in the Lake Forest-ish area on Rt 41 there is a wheel repair shop that looks to do a good bit of business, but I'm unsure of the name or any contact info. I can look for you if you're interested.

Is it CM Works?? They are in the parking lot next to McDonalds down by me???

I'm not sure what the place is called... it's in that area though.

I only remember because the day after all that s*** happened with Wheels of America I realized I drive past a place with a huge sign out front reading "WHEEL REPAIR" on my way to and from work everyday.

That the place. I stoped in there to see about powdercoating a while back. They don't do that, bit their wheel repairs look great. Here's their number for anyone who needs it. 630 455 5589
