hahhha... i thought this was regarding work. i was all... dude, this crap don't make no sense. these people be working some damn odd hours!

well its not an option, but i LOVE the 5-3 shift...nothing like cruising down the highway around 50mph when some civic punk rolls up to me and shakes his head at my grocery getter with "just a fart can"....so i 5-3 shift and he doesnt even have the chance to read my custom plate - and thats only at FIVE psi.

i love 2-3

But 1-2 is an aboloute b****. I've been driving this car for over a year and still **** up that shift on a reglar basis! It's like I have to either only rev 1st up to like 2k and then shift, or rev it to 4k or so and then try to give it just enough gas when engaging the clutch into second.

I think the problem is that since it takes SO long to make the 1-2 shift the revs drop off before you re-engage the transmission, which forces me to give it just the right amount of gas when coming off the clucth.. If I give it too much you get that pull when engaging second (which i'm sure has already caused some clutch damage), or I give it not enough and the car jerks like it hit a wall for a second...

Why up shift when its more fun to rev match!?!

I like the 3-2 shift because Rev Matching is mucho fun. It is more challenging for me than an up shift. Mazdaspeedgirl has shown me lots of kewl stuff about driving my SE MX-5 that I never would have learned without her being my sister! ;) (wrc)

:D I got you guys, those who said heel-toe downshifting. I do it all the time. It's a habit now. :)

And anything for my baby sister, Tia! :)

5-4 or 5-3 definitely. Although it would be much better if I had urethane mounts and a kartboy shifter setup...

In my Miata I used to LOVE 3-2 on a rainy day. Nothing like kicking the back end out on a 'slow' curve...
