it looks like the exhaust and intake are reversed. looks wrong to me. It may be just me but that looks like carburators where the exhaust usually is. maybe I need more sleep.

You got it.

The engine is set up for reverse flow; i.e. what was the exhaust is now the intake, and vice versa. Those are Honda carbs bolted to the sides of the block.

I've been thinking about it, and I really can't think of any reason to do this other than to be different. That being said, it's pretty damn cool.

I don't think it runs. Or it's never been cranked. No discoloration of the exhaust pipes on the outside near the head and no carbon on the inside of the pipes.

I think it's also a wonerful idea to have whatever the tires want to kick up off the road go straight for for the carb inlets.

In any case, it won't be street legal. If they don't like you putting fuzzy dice on your mirror I doubt they'd let you on the street with 8 pipes blocking your line of sight.
