Thanks man i appreciate it i might actually consider buying that Shark Antenna. Perhaps at the end of the week ill seeI'm thinking about getting the shark fin. Yeah, it's pricey, but I see some paint flaking around the base of the antenna. The fin will put an end to it... or at least, obscure it.

I put the Mazda3 antenna on my car today. It looks good, and the radio still works well (and before Brian says anything else, I have a nice stereo for listening to music, but sometimes I like to get my news from NPR or hear new music on the college stations). Radio haters aside, the reception is good and the looks are exactly what I was looking for (about 1/2 to 1/3 the length of stock).
The downside: it's a little pricey at $40 shipped from Montgomery Mazda. OEM quality is worth it to me, but I bet you could get a comparable OEM piece for half the price if you search.
For the Cost issue of the Mazda 3 Antenna...
There are literally thousands of free ones in parking lots all around the world...
Hey, this may sound like a dumb question, but how do you replace the radio antenna on the Protege5 ?I put the Mazda3 antenna on my car today.
