If you bought your car with the impression and was told it had a clean title and they said they did some work on it....

WHEN..

You just found out the car has had body work done to it, and they didn't do the work they said.

I love my car.. it runs and drives fine.. It had a pull tot he right so i had that fixed but was pointed out some obvious work on it...

I am just starting this thread to hear what you all think I should do. I am going to be calling them and telling them whats on my mind, but what should i get them to do. Theres no way I can return the car..

Few options i thought is.....
1. They put new tires on the rear for me since they didn't fix the problem and my rear tires are worn out a bit..
2. Tell them they have to reimburse me for the work i had to get done that they supposively did.
3. Where the body work was done, i'm afraid of rust starting due to it probably not being fixed correctly.... so i'm thining if rust appears anytime on it, they shold be responsible to fix it...

Please tell me what you think.. Has anyone ever been in this position before where the dealer said something was done, so you take it somewhere else and you find out bad things......

If you bought it from a dealer and were mislead, you can return it. At least I would think so. Personally, I wouldn't want the car because there's no telling what else has been omitted from you.

"topher" is a car salesman. pm him if you need advice. He's very knowledgeable.

yeah.. i like the car and its going fine.. I went and put money into a bit of work that they said they did.. I called them up and told them i did it and they are reimbursing me the money. So i'm happy again..

Well the problem lies in you have to prove that they purposely kept the information from you. The bad thing about buying a used car from a dealer is that while they might have known about say some front end work, that doesn't mean they know about the rear-end work. So basically unless you have proof that they lied or miss lead you legally you cant do anything about it. And that would take money you probably dont have anyways.

Pretty much same thing goes for a private seller also. If he bought it new and didnt tell you about any work done you could take him to Small Claims Court and try to get compensation that way. But you also have to ask yourself if this person has the money to pay. Most of the time they dont or wont.

It sucks that people are like this, but it all comes down to this.

You bought a used car and in doing so you run the risk of buying a car that has had problems. Now if it runs good and you are happy with it then I wouldnt worry about it. Drive it love it live it.

very good to hear. Sucks if you get misled on stuff, but maybe they just forgot?

buying cars is a pain in the ass..thats why i got my P5...thank you to everyone is this forum for all the help with q's and stuff

I would take the biggest nastiest dump I could squeeze out right in the middle of their showroom & politely request that they now try to sell this s*** or.......drive the car right into the showroom through the glass crashing into as many new cars as possible & politely explain that they also failed to tell you about the previous brake problems along with all the other things that they lied to you about.
