What tint % do you like?

I had mine metered at 10%. It's pretty dark.
Think I'm gonna have the front doors redone in 35% and keep the rest the way it is.
I'm the 2nd owner. Car came tinted already.

I got a strip of limo tint across the front windshield.

When people say all around it usually excludes the windshield.

5% in the back and tint banner, 30% front.

Front tint is negotiable, but you gotta go dark in the back! chicks love tint ;)

That looks really good. Would the front strip interfere with a radar detector?

I have had no interference with the Radar detector. It works just as well as it did before the tint. It hangs right below the tint line and infront of the rearview mirror. Picks up Staties about a mile or two away. depending how straight and flat the road is.

Vegas is sweet. I have 5% all around with eyebrows on front and cops don't really give a damn.

Thanks for the info ragindark, reading that I have kind of a noob question, is there a difference between a 20% tint and a 20% limo tint? From one of those pages I think I read the pass through rate for the radar waves was 10% better for the limo tint.

"limo tint" is usualy what people say when they refer to 5% or lower tint. B/c it's completely black from the outside like a limo's tint.

All window tint will reduce effectiveness of radar detectors. The darker you go, the more the performance suffers. If you are tinting and use a detector, make sure you do not use metallic film, as this will basically make the detector useless from those windows.

I wish I could get away with 15%, that looks very nice. Maybe I can forge a doctors note that says I have migraines or something...

i got metallic film and i have noticed no difference in the performance of my radar detector. It still picks up the po's just as well as it did before tint. I'm sure darker tint will effect it, but i doubt the effect is THAT big.

cali doesnt allow front windows to be tinted, but i got mine tinted anyway. I went pretty light in the front though, super dark in the back. i cant remember %'s though, lol sorry
