What tint % do you like?

suntek hp50 ftw....

50% and very light blue. can be applied to all windows and noone will know the better because it mimics factory mercedes glass.

I have Carbon Tech 18% all around. CT doesn't interfere with any kind of electronics such as cell phones, GPS, etc.

I just got my tinted. Limo all around!! Got many compliments. Cali is pretty strict though

Yeah you don't know how many times I have to roll down my window when I see a cop near by even if its in the morning and its like 50 degrees outside haha!

i don't have mine installed yet; it's sitting here waiting for my date with the area's best tinter.

here are some other pics floating around...

30% all the way around, never had any visibility problems at night.. I like it. If I get tint again it will be 25-30. I think 15-20 is a bit too dark for night driving...from what I can remember from a friends car anyway

here are some pics of the hp50 i was talking about earlier. these pics aren't the best representation of it, i'll take some more this weekend. it's very cool stuff. i'm impressed. it looks EXACTLY like the MB factory blue glass, and also somewhat like the older VW blue glass.

Looks sweet.
What brand is this?

I'm planning on 35% all around as well. **** the NJ laws! The local tint shop here said that they're good at wrapping tint and the cops can't prove that it's aftermarket, thus can't write up a ticket. Plus for me I guess.

Tint shops will tell you anything to make money. If they'll stand behind their work, get it in writing that they'll replace your tint for free if you have to take it off after getting a ticket or failing inspection. Cops aren't dumb and neither are the DMV inspectors. No cars come with 35% tint from factory on the front side windows, only the back. It's a safety issue and you'll never see factory tinted windows on the front sides. Yes, NJ sucks in many ways. This is one of them. I'll just be getting my rear section tinted.

i'm in nj too. I've got a black mica and want tints (especially after getting my black rims). Does anyone have pics of a black mica with somewhere around 35% in just the back section?

ok, im planning on getting 20% all around, but im also considering getting a sun strip acorss the front. my only concern is that at the top of the windshield there is the wiper sensor (GT), has any1 w/ a GT put a sun strip on? i just want to make sure it won't interfere w/ the wiper sensor.....

also w/ those who have a sun strip, does it block ur view of traffic lights ever? i know in my old 626 which had a 15% strip, sort of made looking @ traffic lights @ night annoying b/c id have 2 move my head 2 see under the strip in order 2 see it clearly...the only happened when i was the first car b4 the light. -- wondering if it was just the angle of the windshield....

I'll post pics of my ride. I got mine used so i dont know they exact percentages. I'd guess 20% in the back and 35% up front. Maybe a lil darker than that.

I have had no problems with my sun strip. See pics below. You can see in the second pic that the strip doenst go all the way past the sensor. However the strip is exactly at the AST (or whatever) line.

Keep in mind all these pics were taken on an EXTREMELY sunny day, so the tint appears much lighter than it really is. At night its a whole different story.
