WHAT THE HELL!!!!! pic heavy!

LOOK! JUST LOOK!!! Going to work last night traveling on the interstate, I saw a couple chunks of "stuff" laying on the highway. Didnt really think much of it other than to dodge it. The closest car ahead of me was probably 1/4 mile away and it was dark. I was in the passing lane, and began my merge to the slow lane when all of a sudden out of the shadows of the dark and into my the beam of my headlights at 75 mph, was this huge blown out tire from a damn semi. It was pretty big, like a small kid....all i could do was brace my self and felt a big "CLUNK!" I WAS SO PISSED!!! Drove fine, got to work and checked out the damage, crossing my fingers, which did not good as you can see by the pics...

Ripped out the inner wheel well covering, smashed my bumper cover and ripped off a piece of the bottom air deflector, luckly my foglight seems to be ok...but the passenger side headlight isnt very flush with the fender...

Damn insurance is going to file it as a "collision" instead it should be "comprehensive" as I do not have a deductible for comprehensive and plus there was nothing i could have done to prevent it. Im so pissed!

Had one shop give me an estimate which is about $1200...that suck!(nuts)

I had that happen to me. Except I was driving my sisters civic and it tore the rear bumper off.

eh...It'll buff right out...LOL.

Hey, look on the bright side, maybe you could install an AutoEXE or other front bumper, for the same price.

Those tire snakes are a b****.

Man that sucks bad!! My windshield took a rock from one about a month ago about 1/4" chip (it was like slow motion as I watched it coming) next day it was about 24" long. Damn semi's!!

(omg)(sad1) man thats sucks bud, its probably not a big deal its the bumper its made to get hit

EXACTLY what i was thinking...since i have a buffer and all...no but really the AutoEXE is now a real option for me....

OMG this exact thing happened to me too! The blown out tire was actually rolling towards me when I hit it. Luckily for me, it hit my license plate and that absorbed most of the damage. It bent my license plate and cracked the license plate holder. It also put a small dent on the bottom of my bumper. I was so pissed, so I know how you feel! Look on the bright side, now you can get new bumper!

i just got my car back, and hit a damn small piece of tire right under that same light. im still pissed. hey, at least you get a new bumper.

$1200? Wow I hope I dont have to pay that much to get a bumper painted and installed...I just destroyed mine thanks to ice and a curb.

the quote was from True2form. All oem parts. Just the parts alone were only about $600, then comes the labor and paint fees another $600 (which is kind of crazy because i cheated and looked on his computer screen as he was picking out the parts and it comes prepainted!) If i am going to have to pay at least $500 out of pocket anyways, im going to make it worth my while! Autoexe is looking pretty good...i wonder if it would look ok with a stock looking car and wheels....anyone have any pics...silver preferred! Just knowing that my car was "damaged" with less than 4k miles hurts......

call him on it. If it comes prepainted, and he charges you for painting, thats called fraud.

that sucks man.

and thing is, that might actually buff out. put your hand behind that lower bumper and push that out, it should pop out and look close to normal again, the joys of abs molded plastic. i'd try that first, and then see if you can buff some of that stuff off (find someone with a buffer or try to rub it out with some rubbing/polishing compounds or something). i guess the fender liner portion you'll have to get, but you might be able to save that a bit.

it has at least three cracked paint spots that i can see ya could push it out by heating in then pushin from the back and remove some of the black by buffing but you would still have to paint it...that black would wipe off with laquor thinner

If the AutoExe (is that how it's spelled?) is roughly the same price maybe you could find someone who would like to give you their bumper for say... $900 or so? Let them have the bumper they want (the AutoExe one) for much less out of pocket, you get the bumper you want (silver stock), everyone wins (right?).
