what the hell is mazda thinking??

I think that Miata/MX-5 looks PIMP!! That P.O.S Chrylser-thing is horrible looking...all 3 of them.

I agree, Stealth.
WTF are they thinking? As a Miata owner, I know that the LAST thing I was looking for when I bought it was "more cargo area in the trunk" and a V6...isn't that how a bottom-of-the-line convertible Mustang is equipped? The Miata is a modern-day Healey/MG/Alfa Romeo/etc., it's a lightweight, little roadster.
Mazda is making a mistake if they replace the current MX-5 with that.

I like the idea of a rotary engine in one, though! ;)

All I can say is either Mazda is very smart or very stupid, can the america public handle an entire line up of Mazda 6 variants?!

ah yes, the heavily disguised SMART cars. those pics have been in a few mags too. i heart those things, super small and relatively efficient. stick a fuel cell in one and they'd have my money.

those SMART cars have been around for years, just not here in the states.. check out www.smart.com to see them without the disguises :)

its making me sad, they change the p5 to the 3, the rx-8 looks pretty good, but this is too much http://info.detnews.com/autosinsider/sneakpeek/index.cfm?id=2351

they "6"-ified the miata too...theyre takin it too far with the rx-8/mazda6 looks

It's a photoshop based off a picture of the MPS Mazda6 (I can even get the original picture).

The next Miata (which is in development), looks nothing like that.

the only thing i welcome is a little more room in the cabin so maybe i cold drive one one day...im 6'3"-6'4"

I'm 6' 2" and I fit in there OK. Not exactly stretching out, but it's alright...We drive the Miata up to the City all the time(1-1/2 hours), and it's not too bad.
lol, The fun-to-drive factor outweighs the lack of comfort.(drive)

I'm 6'1" and the current model irritates me with the edge of the windshield being right in my line of sight. Still, it would be a mistake to move that car to anything larger. It would not be nearly as fun or cool as the bargain it is now.

I agree. I don't car for the look. I hope Mazda won't turn out like Dodge and make every car, van, and truck look just alike in the front  That is a big con for dodge. Their grills look the same, butt ugly! :bs: I like the full size truck, the Dakota needs to be redesigned as does the Durango, but their cars and minivans have the same front ends. They are cutting costs I assume.

Calm down, it's not real.

It's a photoshop done by some enthusiasts of what it MAY look like. That was up on Miata.net months ago.

Yes, just to make it clear, since people missed it... (thanks Chris, too)

THAT PICTURE IS A FAKE PHOTOSHOP, IT IS NOT THE 2006 MIATA.

That is all.
