To me, it seems to happen at a particular temp. Usually for me around Fall, and then spring it's at it's worse. Other times it doesn't seem so bad for some reason. replacing the strut mounts got rid of the rear noises quite a bit. I think all it needs really is a good grease or lube.
Mazda should sell their cars with a warning on the window.
Warning: This car has 3 distinct and annoying sounds
1. Your struts will squeak when cold, and we won't do anything about it
2. The Clunk will haunt you for life and we won't do anything about it
3. your bushings will make a scrunchy sound when cold....and guess what! ... we won't do anything about it.
