my mazdaspeed is squeakier than a hotel bed on prom night.

what the holy hell is going on? i didnt buy a new car to get squeek galore. **** the "clunk", i got teh squeek!!!!!!!!!!

its really loud too...wtf?

675 miles

Stiff struts + stiff suspension bushings + cold weather + little sound deadening (it's a Protege, not a Lexus) = noisy squeaky car

Time to crawl around under your car with a can of aerosol white lithium grease. Not much fun when it's 19 degrees F.

Your now officially a Mazda owner :)

To me, it seems to happen at a particular temp. Usually for me around Fall, and then spring it's at it's worse. Other times it doesn't seem so bad for some reason. replacing the strut mounts got rid of the rear noises quite a bit. I think all it needs really is a good grease or lube.

Mazda should sell their cars with a warning on the window.

Warning: This car has 3 distinct and annoying sounds

1. Your struts will squeak when cold, and we won't do anything about it
2. The Clunk will haunt you for life and we won't do anything about it
3. your bushings will make a scrunchy sound when cold....and guess what! ... we won't do anything about it.

.....my Nissan had the squeaks as well, but my MAZDASPEED is quiet so far, as is my wife's Protege ES.

"Stiff struts + stiff suspension bushings + cold weather + little sound deadening (it's a Protege, not a Lexus) = noisy squeaky car"
-don't accept that, take it back and get it fixed...noises from these components mean they are not working correctly (bushings) read any of the million or so MP3 threads on this for all the info you could ever want on this...

Once again: the bushings are not the cause of the squeaks. The struts are.
The bushings cause a clunk sound.
I want to get this straight for when the database is made of bushing failures.

one of my worries is that people get these noises confused. And when they explain it to the dealer, they think there's only one problem when there's 3.

Maybe in your databe we should make a quick description of thE noises and outline what noises are what so that everyone doesn't call every little noise they hear in their cars the clunk.

Example......their subwoofer banging around in their trunk....OH MY GOD IT's the CLUNK.

They hear the bushings do their little cold thing they do, and they call that the clunk instead of the scrunchy sound it is.

etc

squeek

i have a p5, but i get a squeek from the drivers seat while im driving.. some of the springs or whatever in the seat squeek... i only notice it when the radio is off because i usually have it up all the way. anyone else have a squeeky seat?

sucks for me too.

I was going to start a new thread on this...But i guess i can just add to this thread.

This morning in Toronto was about - 18 degrees Celcius and during my drive to school on the highway i noticed a puppy like crying noise in the rear. Could it be more suspension noises?
Aurgh!. yes it was. It varified with me when i when over bumps when the struts need to travel a few inches whne travelling at 120km/h on the highway.

Everytime the shocks compressed, it made a 'cry like a puppy' noise. Very Annoying, but not as loud as the clunk. Anyway, i guess this wasn't just happening to my car, but to a few of you guys as well...so i'm guessing it's normal.

i hope in the summer time this 'puppy cry' noise is gone and that this car is great in handling. i'll scarfice squeeks and clunk as long as this car handles phenomenal. Let's hope so...:(

i was thinking that it had something to do with the aftermarket + upgraded and tuned suspension,.... sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt! big bumps, little bumps, sometimes yes, sometimes no... grr...im def takin it back to the dealer for them to check it tho. shouldnt be squeaking.

i think of it the same way..
it shouldn't be squeaking....and i really don't think it's a big problem. It should be an easy fix as long as you find out exactly where it is coming from.

I get the same...sometimes i get it, sometimes i don't. I guess it depends on how the shock travels. Or How the rear is angled. If you angle the rear of your car on a speed bump or any big bump is such a way, you'll get the clunk...even going over it at less than 5km/h.
