šŸŽ„ If you had the final say, what should an interior dashcam actually record?

We're currently planning the next generation of our dash cams, and we really want to build them around what drivers actually need in the real world. That's why we'd love to hear your honest thoughts:
  1. When you're driving, what do you want your dash cam to capture inside the vehicle?
  2. Is there anything you've wished your dash cam would record, but couldn't?
  3. For those situations, have you used any workarounds or alternative solutions?
Feel free to share your experience or ideas, every piece of feedback helps shape where our future products go.

As a small thank-you, we"ll randomly pick one commenter to receive an exclusive brand T-shirt. It's just our way of saying thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

I personally would love if the dashcam could somehow capture a "bird's eye" view of the cabin. Like a separate interior camera that could be mounted higher on the windshield, or even somehow mounted to the headliner, providing a clearer view of the cabin and passengers. Right now, with the F17 Elite/F17 Plus, the interior cam can partially capture my kids in the 2nd row captains chairs, but if they happen to fall asleep and are leaning towards the door, they're completely out of view. I imagine this would also be important for rideshare drivers, to better protect themselves from passengers with bad intentions or using illegal substances in the car, for example.

Additionally I would like if the rear dashcam offered something similar, where the rear interior cam was separate and could be positioned however the user wanted. Let's say you're a reseller and you often conduct transactions at the rear of the vehicle, with the trunk open. Normally, with the F17 Plus setup as an example, the liftgate would open and you wouldn't get a great view of the rear of the car or the interior because the camera is mounted to the windshield. If you could mount the rear interior camera to the headliner, or to another fixed position, you'd get better usable footage in the event of a deal gone wrong.

While I'm in this mindset of providing suggestions, another suggestion would be to see if there was some way to remotely control where the camera is pointing, so you can adjust camera angle from the main cam or the app without physically manipulating the lens. I understand that this is a big ask though, especially because it would probably cost a lot more to integrate this and make the dashcams too expensive.
