What should I get myself?

Okay, so I am quitting smoking starting today (again). I usually quit once a week it seems lately. I can make it till lunch, or make it all the way till dinner, or not even an hour. But either way, my work day is done, and I ate cereal for dinner, and I feel like strangling somebody, but in a good way. I'm in a good mood right now, but I know this won't last too much longer because my space bar is sticky and I want to smash this friggin' computer into tiny pieces.

Geez..... okay

I figure that maybe I need something to look forward to at the end of two weeks. Make it two weeks and something good will happen. Something tangable. Something I can hold in my hands. Something I can install. Something for the M2. Being healthy, and being able to breathe are all things I can get if I quit smoking, but I would rather smoke. Darts rock. Brews and darts? Yes please. 100 to 200 bucks for a sweet gadget for the 2. closer to $100 would be best, unless I can get two 2 things for a little + or - 200 bones. I'm a mess.

I feel you, I quit smoking almost five years ago cold turkey, it was tough. You need to stick with it and know that each day it will get a little easier. Gotta think that if you can make it though one or two days with out a smoke, if you slip up, that is another one or two days down the drain. I recently went on a diet and lost 20 pounds, I rewarded myself with a trip to the Levi's store for that accomplishment.

As for your reward, and I do think this makes for a good incentive to keep on track, I'd say get a CorkSport rear torsion bar. If you already have one then maybe look into the awr torque mount offered by good-win racing. Best of luck to you.

^^The 2's horn is definitely sufficient, lol.

I vote rear torsion bar for sure. It was my first upgrade and I still love it. The car won't oversteer unless you just simply push it too far. And even then, it's perfectly controllable. I've had it step out a few times at speed. Once due to a semi coming into my lane without warning as I was already coming around an on ramp at the limit of adhesion and had to cut the wheel even farther to avoid him (50-55mph) and once due to loss of traction from leaves on the road (again 45-50mph), and once the other day just because I swapped back to stock springs and wheels/tires and hit an off-camber turn on my way to work like I would have with stickier rubber. Perfectly controllable slide around 45mph.

I give Corksport big props on that bar. The car doesn't understeer nearly as much as stock. It's JUST RIGHT. :D

Don't know how old you are, but I quit 5 months ago cold turkey, with my wife who had minor surgery on something. Doctors explained she had to stop prior to surgery because it effects blood pressure and other things. After smoking for 20 years, if I can do it, anyone can. I never tried before, and have not restarted. My wife stopped twice before when we had kids. she quit when she found out she was pregnant, but I didn't. she restarted probably because of me. anyways, 5 months later, she says she probably would have started again if it wasn't for me having not started again. I promised her, my kids and my self.

I live in Canada and the cigarettes I smoke were $10 a pack. I smoked 1 pack a day. That was $70/week, $280/month and roughly $3500/year. My wife too, so that's roughly $7000 a year. what can you do with $7000. A cruise. Lease a car. Gas for your car for how long? insurance too? Something for the little woman?

I'm 26 and a half.

I had CS rear torsion bar on my bucket list for sure (or is it "in" my bucket list? What is a bucket list....) and the SRI as well...

But I really like this, and it is cheap.

I think I asked for the rear torsion bar for christmas, so I cannot go ahead and buy that... I need something else.

I do actually NEED winter floor mats in the car. but why would I buy something I need? That's not a reward.

Give me more ideas. I mean anything goes for under 100 bucks (or a bit over depending how cool it is). What about doing the "ol' multiple ground point" thing. Do you guys think I could get that stuff for under 50 bucks??

Oh hey! what about a gauge pod?? I've seen some pretty nice ones in some videos. I really get annoyed when I cannot see what the engine temp is... Dummy lights suck... It's gotta look close to stock though. I was wondering if I could knock out one of the vents and just fit one into the left over hole...

anyways, 5 months later, she says she probably would have started again if it wasn't for me having not started again.

This is the biggest part, having someone to support/motivate you. A couple years ago I was quite overweight and decided I wanted to fix that. My wife wasn't in nearly as bad of shape as I was, but she needed to start exercising too. We kicked each other's asses and in less than a year I lost 80 pounds, and she lost all that she needed to as well.

A bucket list is a list of things to do before you die (kick the bucket), so I would say the torsion bar was is on your wish list.

Yes. Wish list for sure.

So I failed horribly on the weekend, and the count restarts.

The CS torsion bar is very high up the list. My girfriend says that I can do this, but if I start smoking I have to give an equivelant amount of money to the total of the reward gifts if I start back up again.

She thinks I'll do the two weeks, and get the part, and a pack of smokes at the same time.

I made all last week until friday at lunch. Four days down the drain, but I have a new secret weapon to help me out this week.
