I have a 2002 protege5 & the font O2 sensor is broken. Im shopping online but I notice there are different ones IE:

1)Oxygen Sensor = Univeral Type, 2 Wire 20cm Long, w/o Connectors
2)Oxygen sensor = Universal Type, 4 Wires, Without Connectors
3) are the back 7 front O2 sensors different?

which is the correct one the 2 wire or 4 wire? & they sell without the connector, is that a big deal? cant I just use the old connector & attach it on to the new one?

Thank you

i don't know what "back 7 front o2 sensors" are, but the front one is a four-wire. any 4-wire universal should work fine. and the only difference between the front and rear sensors is the wire length and the connector on the end. other than that, they are the same.

sorry about the "back 7" I meant to say "Back &". the sensor i want to purchase doesnt come with the connectoir is it ok to take of the old one & attakh it to the new one.

Thanks

Just get the OEM Mazda part. I know of several times when people have had issues with the "universel" sensors. You can get them for like $110 at www.onlinemazdaparts.com by digging through their catalog. Sure it's more expensive than those Bosch sensors but it's cheaper than from the dealership and you know they're going to work. No splicing or anything needed.
