Hey, I've got a hand full of plastic parts I need made, in short runs(100-500). Do you know anybody that might be able to make these at reasonable prices?

No I don't. We own a sister company that injenction molds plastic but you pay top dollar for a mold to be made, and for the machine to be run. Molds are really expensive, and machine time is not cheap. I am newer to the industry and don't have many contacts for molding, only automation and other mechanical things.
Since we are a confidential R&D consulting company, everything costs more... my hourly rate is $121 and to blow-mold it is $250/hour. Don't know how we bill injection honestly.

yeah, the best quote i've gotten so far for the main mold I need is $12k

sounds about right. It all depends on what type of mold (what type of injection machine), cavitation, cooling times, type of plasitc, block mold / cavity-core mold, number of parts in the mold.

Once the mold is made you can make parts for relativly cheap... just machine time and plastic (which is not cheap for virgin grade these days). But you better make a lot of them, or you will never pay for that mold. Most projects we quote out are around $100k, even for the small devices I have designed.
