Ok so after spending hours changing my rear motor mount, cleaning the Egr, and changing the oil the car is running great. I get to a stoplight and I hear a rythemic clicking noise. I get out and trace it to this piece in the picture. The top hose runs back to the charcoal canister. The wire goes under the plastic valve cover. I unclipped the wire and it stopped instantly. It's right near the brake master cylinder. If anybody has any idea what this is or why it's clicking I'd appreciate it. Thanks

It's LOUD. It never did that before. It sounds like fuel injectors firing just louder. Does the clicking mean it's going bad. I suspected the PCV was bad because I change my oil every 1000 miles and its still black again after driving only a few hundred miles.

It's a vacuum solenoid for the evaporative emmissions stuff. They typically don't wear out, but it shouldn't be too costly to replace. Give it a shot.
