What have you done to your Rotary Mazda Today?

I worked on the new seat upholstery. It's slow going since I don't know how to sew very well. I'm not using a pattern either. The old covers are not that helpful. This is the first of four parts I need to do. I'm on the final stages of cinching and darting the front to make it tight around the foam. The seat is just draped over the cushions. Underneath the foam there are points at which a bar sewn into the fabric is hooked to holes with hog rings. When all the hog rings are on and the final cinching is made I'll post pics of the final product.

um.......he's putting the 20b into his FD...not taking it out of his Cosmo (he doesnt even have a cosmo)

Read my post again...I know Amp doesn't have Cosmo (although there might be at the most 1 or 2 in the states...it seems there are a lot of 20b engines that have been imported)...Obviously, I'm referring to the poor Cosmo that had it's 20b ripped out so that Amp could swap it into his FD (and then back out)...Since the 20b only existed in one car EVER...unfortunately that means for every 20b being swapped into everything under the sun including airplanes...there is a Eunos Cosmo that has been left for dead simply because of it's highly desirable engine...which sucks for Eunos Cosmo fans such as myself...on a positive note...it's helping to make the Eunos Cosmo "3 Rotor RE" a "modern" collector car.

I'm a fan of cool swaps but in this case...I have a personal connection with the 20b and I prefer to see it in it's original home.

Nice but I hate to think what state the Cosmo is in now that it doesn't have a heart...:(

Why did you have to scrap the 20b?..So does that mean your rebuilding the stock 13b?

can sympathize antoine.. im on the same boat as you with the fd ls(x) swaps..
although as youve stated.. helps with the rarity of the vehicle..
fyi.. the 20b was supposedly pulled out of a front clip that was from a totalled cosmo..

Just a simple Racing Beat exhaust install.

Here was the final straw today. The point of no return. It was super easy. Four bolts on the tranny crossmember and one on each side of the engine.
Anyone wanna buy an engine?

Very clean and with a sweet stance (2thumbs)....plus I like the fact you dropped 18lbs in the process...Are those polished?..I'm a big fan of the "polished" look :D

Over the last couple of weeks I finally started a rebuild after procrastinating on a coolant seal leak. Fortunately, everything is testing out, well within spec. It will get new housings anyway, along with a complete emissions delete, vacuum simplification....and maybe some porting. Nothing really fancy but they'll be a few other upgrades in the process......

Worked on my seats again last night. This time I put in some batting to add billow to the fabric. It's turning out well.
