What have you done to your P5 today?

Did my first oil change since owning the p5. Switched from regular to mobil 1 full synthetic and my god does the car start and idle so much smoother. Also, ive noticed slightly better gas mileage which also puts a big smile on my face. I shall hopefully be putting the Tein springs on this thursday. I CANT WAIT!!!!

^^^^but that is the way to not do it. Oh wait...I have a kit (not DDM) kit like that installed.

Have decided not to do the retro, there are other things I should be throwing $300 at. Have been contemplating buying some Osram Ralleye 65W bulbs from Daniel Stern. Have been emailing him back and forth. Much higher lumens and same expected life expectancy of a stock H7 bulb and much longer life than the Silverstars, PIAAs, etc.

Removed all plastidip from my roof. Will start prepping soon for actual paint. For future reference, Brake parts cleaner re-liquefies plastidip. If you have texture or a rip in it and need to patch it, put some cleaner on your finger and rub it until it is smooth, you can then let it dry and then respray.

Replaced a front caliper, cut my rotors, and received my JDM tail lights today :)

Tips on installation?

remove old and install new, its only 3 10mm bolts that hold the light in and the design of the car. just make sure you have all of the proper bulbs before you remove the old tails as well as the new harness for the jdm tails.

i had a nail taken out of one of my tires today (hand)

Also, quick question, are there any differences between the rear motor mounts of a manual trans P5 and an auto P5? For some reason, autozone's website lists the rear motor mount as "application: automatic transmission" and gives options for both manual and automatic front motor mounts (which are identical AFAIK) but no manual trans rear motor mount

Went around a right hard turn and heard a loud pop in the rear end. Didnt hit it fast was just cruising into a parking lot. Parked and looked at my progress rear swaybar and saw a lose bolt. When to the hardware store got some lock washers and then home. Took both brackets off and one was like this.... Emailing progress now...

This sounds like good idea. I have been planning on ditching the h7 5000k HIDs in the low beams and going back with halogen and doing 3000k H3s in my fogs using the ballasts from the headlight kit. Already have the 3000k H3 bulbs. These 65w Osrams would be cool for the low beams. I would like to know more about scoring some of these myself..............

I've got illuminas on my P5 and the softest setting even with espelier springs is slightly softer than stock was. And the hardest is like driving a train. No give what so ever. They're costly but worth every penny of the $1100 I paid 3 years ago.
Thanks for the report. I have had Illuminas for years with some Maxspeed springs running them on 3 up front and 2 out back. Seems fine but there is a box of fresh Espelirs that have been sitting in the garage for years now too crying out for some action. Been moddin a lot on a coupla trucks so projects on the car have been on back burner. Hell, I haven't even rolled 5k in it over the last coupla years. Only fair weather crusin once in awhile to keep it alive. I really do want to get over the procrastination and make pulling the struts and puttin on those nice fresh springs a big enough priority to actually get done sometime fairly soon.

Finally installed my Sparco seat after waiting 4 and a half months. Also put in a turbosmart boost controller. Still have a few smaller things to put on as well. (besides MM and wheel bearing swap)

Looks sweet!, think you should do the passenger side too though, IMO I don't like how cars look with just the driver seat changed, looks lopsided.

I set the other seat back. I dont ever have passengers in the car so I dont need the second seat. I can use that money elsewhere. Besides I dont want to go through another 4 months of hell trying to get another one.

Been reeeeeaaaalllllyyyyyy busy with school the past few weeks, so I haven't been able to do anything to the P5. HOWEVER, and I know this has been discussed, but I'm 90% sure I'm going to do a Mini H1 retro this summer, into some fresh housings. I'm still contemplating the quad projector if it's even feasible. I need to get some measurements and see how much cutting I'll need to do. But, a retro is most likely happening. I also wouldn't mind some new struts and springs and a cat-back. Confirmations pending...
