What have you done to your P5 today?

Today was a busy day. Changed my outer tie rods, passenger cv axle, passenger knuckle with new bearing, front motor mount, upper and lower radiator hoses, and passenger front caliper + pads. Nothing like a smooth silent straight ride after months of wahwahwahwahwahwahwahwah

Transmission was dropped off to the shop.

New 2nd Gear ratio will result in a speed of 138 Km/H in Second Gear at 7K RPM

Tried replacing a lock actuator. What a PITA. I finally got it connected correctly, and the power lock is still not working. I just unplugged it for now so I wouldn't have to hear that stupid whizzing noise.

I spent Thursday and Friday in Chicago for a career day put on by the Chicago Advertising Federation. Sadly, I took the South Shore in so my P5 sat at the train station over night. Poor girl was cold, but a champ none the less. She got a full tank of gas today and a nice drive to work. Busy few weeks ahead, but tax money should be in this week... meaning presents.

From those of you who've done it, how long does it take you to unhook the harness, axels, mounts, and take out the motor?

I am thinking of doing a major overhaul on the BJ, put it on stands fix dents and rust, paint, do timing, EGR cleaning, relocktite-ing the butterflys, probably new oem replacement front brakes (I think mine are mismatched and I have some overhang), inspect struts and the top hats and see how that's holding up, I have new endlinks and outer ties and install those, Steam clean the interior, and get it inspected.

To remove the engine, once the axels and exhaust is off, its quite simple if you have a hoist.

hush you... but i dont come in here talking about my non mazdas, which i have none. i generally dont come in here at all. unless some of you have something interesting to say about your proteges. like say... puting in those new seats... or getting your car running even!

so basically... im saying... get off here and get to work!

But it's too cold in my garage... :(

This thread has turned into a Facebook status update for maintenance on P5's anyway. The glory days of sweet builds and new parts are over. le sigh...
