What have you done to your P5 today?

Nope. Completely different.

Saw mine yesterday and put my finger thru the strut tower rust. Awesome.

Awwww shiiiiiiiit, I got some competition again! How's the rest of the car been holding up?

Your P5 needs to go to a crusher.

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

As I recall, the rest of Phens P5 looks much the same. Seeing it only once from a distance mind you.

Just drove her to work today. Was supposed to go on a cruise with cleverfrog, buuuuuuutttttt stuff came up. Homework has sufficed, I guess.

The heat shield around my cat is rattling. It's only at a moderate idle or low acceleration, basically between idle and about 1500 rpm. Can I just take off the shield for now? Inputs...

Allow me to rephrase... the budget comment was aimed at Your car still has heat shields?. Thank you was an honest response. I'll tackle the shield later this week. I wanted to make sure I was about to be forced into buying a whole new cat just to get rid of an annoying rattle.

In other news, I just wrote a blog giving a short chronicle between from my last Protege to my P5. Check it out if you're bored enough. :P

I still have all of mine and they are rattle free. :p

Lies, ALL LIES! Do you have that little one on the j-pipe? :P

Either I've lost too many brain cells huffing paint fumes for the past two weekends or we have a simple misunderstanding here. I made the "Your car still has heat shields?" comment because mine have long since rusted off, my exhaust system is completely stock. My whole car is very stock, I like it that way (it didn't help that I was a poor university student when I bought it).

And that link to your blog post doesn't work :(

Yes, we have a misunderstanding. While I live in northwest Indiana, my P5 is shockingly not rusted to dust. This is the first sign of "major" rust damage I've encountered in the 7 months that I've owned her. All of the other shields are intact with minimal rust. There are some other small rust spots on the body, but nothing too bad... yet.

As for the blog, I have no idea why it isn't showing up. I have it set to be viewed by "other members" not on my contact's list, but it doesn't show up... unless you have to subscribe to it. Either way, I hope this link works. It'll take you to my list of blogs (both of which are the same, one was deleted as the duplicate). Hopefully, you should just have to click on "Stepping Stones" and it should open right up... key word being should.

So, on Saturday I got to work with a couple of friends to lower the P5 on some Tokico ILK Strut/Spring setup, plus the Moog 02 Ford Escape Endlinks. About an hour in a rain storm rolled in and we ended up having to work through it in the rain. Ran into 1 major snag trying to get the driver side front endlink off. Ended up grinding it all the way down to the sway bar and knocking it through with a air chisle. I already love how it feels and it looks amazing. Maybe some larger rims and wheels next.
