What have you done to your P5 today?

So.... I had to pull the axle.... Taking it down to carquest... I just hope I don't have to get a new axle....

While the car is down im doing the small wire tuck. I'm taking it a little farther than I should...

not to give you bad luck, but my 5 needed a wheel bearing, and the axle was screwed up too.

FYI...chrome paint sucks! LOL! I didn't want to black out the badges, so I needed chrome. Anyway, as long as you aren't looking at it from a foot away, it looks pretty good. It'll be mounted tomorrow.

Yes, the car is dirty. I haven't had a chance to wash it between raining spurts.

Better pics tomorrow, hopefully.

^^^ That's absolutely perfect. Great choice of parts and lip. Well done, sir!

^^^ looks awesome.

Ahh ok. Axle is out. They charged me $20 extra. They said they were *scared and thought the press was going to break.

Havent done anything to it really damn paint guy closed early friday afternoon so I have to wait till tuesday to start painting my cage...ahhhhhhh

Finished dying my headliner (mostly). I just can't figure out how to remove that damn sliding sunroof cover. I'm also pretty worried the paint on the oh s*** handles was a bad idea.

^ I painted mine. It should be alright.

So I got the axle in hub on, had to leave for dinner before I could drive the car. =(. While doing this found out that the drv. side ball joint on the lower ccontrol arm is ripped.

You can get a new boot from Mazda for less than $10. I replaced a boot last summer and it's still going strong.

If it's anything like my old Elantras then it's easy to remove, it is on sliders and with the headliner out you should see some clips where the stoppers are and can remove it to dye it, or do what I did, just use rattlecan dye and leave it in the car. As far as the handles, you aren't going to be touching them that much so a coat or two of clear should be good to protect them against the elements/oils from the hand for a bit longer.

As for me, I drove the car to work today. strange seeing the Tyson's Corner area this dead in the middle of the day, or at any time really. I managed to get to work 2 hours early, sit at McDonalds, BS with some biker friends of mine in the area for an hour and finish watching Sweeny Todd in the parking garage before finally going inside to go to work.

Washed, changed oil, put on Mazda6 wiper, ChargeSpeed lip yesterday, and took a few pics of said work:

Installed Dynamat on the hatch floor and door, front doors, and a new radio and pocket. I was trying out two different JVC units. I winded up settling with the 2nd one since it's $70 cheaper:

Azuelke. that is incomprehensibly sexy.

Noooo hank! JVC bad!
I have absolutely hated every single JVC deck I have ever owned, even my NT1 (which is not by any means an entry level deck). I've owned Sony, Pioneer, Clarion, Alpine and JVC and by far Clarion and Pioneer were my favourite. You can get some clarion decks pretty cheap too. I did love my sony though...

Love the mic placement though. Does it pick up ok, or do vibrations muddy the sound quality?

Nology Hotwires with custom stealth mounted coil packs
Redid the wire tuck because of the Hotwires
Replaced windshield wiper arms (mine were super fading and oxidizing) and windshield wipers (rainex)
Cut and carpeted spare tire well sub enclosure
