What have you done to your P5 today?

I'll be selling mine once the KL is in. It would be silly for me to have an MP3 ECU just running the interior... But it was the best investment I bought for my FS, hands down.

Boy, I'm starting to get anxious about the KL. Strongly considering the purchase of an engine stand, a KLG4, & other goodies instead of the KW Variant2's this January... shitttt

I need a new DD, asap. lol

PS, Lewis - Anyway you can weigh the KL before you drop it in and also the FS?? Curious about the weight differential. Or maybe you already know this info? I haven't seen any concrete numbers of either motor's dead weight... I feel like they should be very comparable in overall weight, tho.

I just bought my curved neck KLZE today so it should be at my work next week and I can weigh it there. It won't go in for a few months so I won't have the weight for the FS until then. But I read they really aren't that much more heavy than the FS. I heard like 80lbs. But I'm not positive about that number. It's just a little V6 though.

I had a biotch of a time finding a KLG4 online for a decent price. Everyone wanted at least $1300 for just the motor and 75k miles on it. One guys actually quoted me $1400 for a motor with 91k miles on it. Pffsht... But I read someone snagged one from a junkyard with a harness for $280. Haha! But I just didn't want to hassle with a junkyard and transporting it and all that jazz so I went with a good eBay seller. Curve neck KLZE's are around $650 and the straight necks are about $100 more (since they have the KL31 cams).

And I'll always share info, Steve. And even give you a hand once you are ready to swap yours since you're not buying that suspension. (See what I did there?)

yea, id like to get in on that info too, after poking around the probe talk 2.5 dyno thread i really want to do a forged turbo KL
the power they make is crazy

just bougt blackdragons mp3 ecu....

my mods are port and polish intake mani... j-pipe back catless 2.5 inch mandrel bent exahaust.. injen intake. all light weight pullies and light weight underdriven crank pulley..along with bushings shifter motor mounts....blah blah blah blah... so hopefully this ecu brings everything together

There is a lot of info in my build thread (though all my posts are rather long winded.) I might make a new build thread for the KL though. And yes, Simon, that dyno thread on PT is freaking crazy. Even just minor bolt ons to a ZE are getting around 160whp. From a motor that sells for $900 shipped. I'm glad the KL's are still inexpensive. Even just the JDM D16's are twice as expensive. Haha! Suckas.

Twisfm, you'll really like the MP3 ECU. I'm not one to hype something up if it's not worth it but the ECU is totally worth it. Good purchase there, mate. We have similar engine mods (minus the pullies for me) and it made a big difference to me. Moreso than the header, intake or exhaust and those all cost twice as much as the ECU.

Ya, 2.5L aluminum block vs. 2.0L cast iron block. It shouldn't be too much different.

I think I'm going to try to find a 626 to buy as a parts car... And pull a block from it. Who knows tho. Honestly this probably won't take place for a year or so. A lot of stuff I've gotta line up to make all this work... ;)

Planning on rebuilding the block anyways, so hopefully I can find a good deal and what not. I've just gotta find a barn or somewhere local I can keep all this crap. Might have to rent a house... lol

Installed the SSAFC piggyback. The car is pretty much done now, just waiting on the two couplers before i turn the key.

be sure to remove the injector relay and crank it over a few times to get oil in the turbo before you start it

mounting looks good in the glove box, i have mine under the cup holder so you can see it at all, but its not mounted, just sitting there lol

By injector relay, I believe he means fuel pump relay. Just to avoid any confusion of looking for the injector relay (which I don't think exists, although I may be wrong...). (thumb)

yea...wasnt sure on the exact relay name lol might be the fuel pump relay
just make sure the thing that controls the fuel is out lol and just a FYI, the coolant temp is going to read all the way hot when its out, dont worry about that
when u put it back in it will read normally

The diagram on the fuse box? I'm pretty sure it says "injector" on it, or INJ, something like that. It's been a good while since I've had mine to look at, so.... ;)

Heh. I paid 3 grand for my B18C when I did that swap. I'd take a $1000 swap any day of the week.

So... wanna put an MP3 ecu in a rusted P5? I think it'd be funny....
