What have you done to your P5 today?

need to replace my front struts... so i was thinkin of kinda going around my warranty, and having my mechanic say hes putting in new stock ones, but he actually puts in better ones.... and i jsut pay whatever difference the warranty company doesnt pay... anyone have any suggestions on what? i was thinkin of maybe jsut doing all 4 coilovers... but idk how much thats gunna wind up costing me.. so im thinking i might just have him put some lowering springs in.. although ive heard bad things about jsut putting in lowering springs..... ideas? and would it work?
 
You could get BC Racing coilovers for $1000 but if that's beyond your warranty coverage I would just get replacement shocks all around.
 
well im willing to pay the difference... and kinda have my mechanic make up 2 bills. kinda thing.. one of which says its replacement OEM struts,which will go to my warrenty company and theyll pay as much as possible and the other is the real one, which ill pay the difference.... how much would replacing all 4 with OEM cost, as apposed to doing BC Racing?
 
Just looked up the cost up the struts and you're looking at 350 for all four struts from the dealership. That does not include strut mounts, the rubber, dust boot, springs. Are you replacing everything? If so, I could give you a more accurate amount.

if i'm not mistaking... OEM dealership price will cost more than after market... if anything the difference will go in your pocket
 
If youve got some cash and some time to tear the interior out, dynamat the doors, floor, roof, should help big time but hit the wallet big time as well ...

I did all that with the exception of the roof with B quiet and frankly the end result wasn't worth the time effort and money spent, car was still fairly noisy, but I eventually fixed it, I traded it against a new 2010 Mazda3 Sport GT.

i want to do my rear soon since i have the insert, but i dont know if i can handle such a huge project on my own at the moment.

Corksport? I have fronts and rears on the way, very interested to hear what you think of them. Did we discuss this yesterday and I just forgot about it?
 
im lookin around.. i should jsut need the strut itself. the wheels clunk and s***. it happened on my old 99 pro too. its not good. but hopefully i dont need all that other stuff? or is it like definate that i need that other stuff?
