What have you done to your P5 today?

I'm going with 205/50/16 for the tires. This is how it will look (look at the front tires):

Can't see the pic here at work but I too think it's silly to go with a 8" wide tire to only mount 205's on it. Just my (2cents)

If you could see the pic you would realize that it looks quite good. It will also give me slightly more clearance at the fender. It's not a small tire by any means.

^^^ Boo. It is indeed a small tire, especially for the FD's. Come on, Matt. Put some meat on those wheels, son son!

I think you're underestimating how much room we don't have in the rear fenders. Here is what 225/50 looks like:

And 215/45/16:

So I'll be good, slightly stretched but good.

At least go 215/45. And if you stretch tires on FD that would be considered blashpemy, good sir. Unless you're just getting FD wheels because they were a crazy good deal and like the way they look. Then, I can understand that. But why not put the most tire you can fit on those wheels?

In related news, I don't think I can ship you the fender roller because it isn't mine to ship. But all you would need to do is put some negative camber in the rear and you will clear 215 easily. I'm on 215/40-17 right now and the cat who owned my wheels/tires before me said he didn't rub while he was at -1 camber. I rubbed because I was 0 camber, but rolled my rear fenders and no mo rub.

But it's your call. I'll stop bustin your balls.

*edit- who cares what they look like, they are tires, they're supposed to grip the road, not look pretty. Wider = better! Okay, I'm done. Sorry.

Yup 225 is a whole lot wider. But if your not hitting the track and only use it for DD go 215/45 for pothole safety lol

Is that your red P5, man? Always looking good.

225 is overkill (*edit- without auto-x needs), I agree. 215/45 FTW! Okay, okay, now I'm really done. I'll shut up now.

215/45/17 with no rubs all day long... With 15mm spacers still not that bad of rubs. A little camber and it's fine. I will have 225/45 in the front w/ 215/45 in the back this weekend probly. Will go to 205/45 in the rear when I replace those, I think.

Looks alright but I can look out my driveway and see 205/50's on my car. haha

I say you should go with the 215/45's.....Nik's car is looking saweet with them.

I bought 16" RX8 wheels for the wifes 3 and running the stock 205/55's for now but when it comes time to replace I'm taking full advantage of that 7.5" real estate and buying some 225/50's!

Pics of the wheels finished up:

These bad boys will have 2 or so weeks to cure before being mounted to the tires. The pictures don't do the wheels justice IMO, they look MUCH cleaner in person.

If you could see them in person you would see that they are darker than the standard silver. I really like how they came out though.

I can tell they are a touch darker. Only because they are sitting directly next to them, tho.

They look good. You just gonna leave the lips as-is?

By lips do you mean the inside of the wheel? The lips on the face of the wheels are painted but if you mean the inside area of the wheel then yeah, I'm not gonna be painting them.
