What have you done to your P5 today?

Purdy...what all did you have done?


Well I needed to get the head checked out anyways of course though I never overheated it and visiual inspection looked good. I wish I had a long elaborate I just spent 2 grand on a "port and polish/valves etc. job" but in reality I just had a friend there do some under the table polishing for me after they checked it out and machined it. I probably won't notice any difference but its fun to think that it will.

def will i see all kinds of msp around i see this black guy with a blue one all the time, saw a silver one with an exhuast, a plain stock silver one, and a yellow one. i think im the only boosted p5 people who dont kno mazdas think its a speed3 (i wish)

Its hard for them to tell even what a Ms3 is when all they see is tail lights at a distance.;)

I'm mostly in the columbia area and really don't see anything.

Theres a titanium MSP in the area too, junya1985. Anyways keep an eye on the MD section for the next MD meet thread. Also, you should come up to Carlisle the first weekend of May. It's definitely a good event to go to even if you only make one show a year, I've already registered for the non-judged field.

I honestly have no clue as to what to do there and that is the problem...what exactly am I checking for...how do I do it...I am a total idiot when it comes to anything that has to do with an engine...

Also, should I stop driving it until I figure something out...could it damage the car...
 
is the CEL flashing or solid?

Solid means something is wrong, but not urgent.

flashing means pull over and dont drive it.

Pull the Cylinder 4 spark plug wire. Smell it, if it smells obnoxiously burnt, than you need a new wire. Pull the plug, see if its fouled. There is a .jpg diagram you can google for that shows normal and abnormal spark plugs.

Perhaps your spark plug is just slightly use. This happened to me last week. My c2 spark plug came loose, and was throwing a CEL.
 
I have an extra S2k antenna :D
i have the scion tc shorty antenna. it matches the base better than the s2k which overlaps the base, so it looks better IMO
 
took care of the annoying rubbing!!! sweet! took my belt sander and some vice grips, small bends and lotsa sanding to the rear of the fender! drove today with my son in the back over EVERYTHING and no rubbing. so f-ing excited cause that tire was starting to look chity.

ugh i hate cops who sit and look for people who roll through stop signs, i am usually pretty good with them except at like 2am, then its a rolling stop :)
 
i parked a bit too close to a curb today, no damage,but it got me thinkin' bout doin the home depot lip, anyone seen it on a black mica p5?

So...I am having a very hard time with my lack of engine skills...I took out the MAP sensor...thing on intake and cleaned it with the special cleaner for it...

I also changed the plugs...

At 1st it wouldn't even start, but now it is staying on, but idling around 500 RPM's...it wants to die, but isn't...

I need some help though because my job is delivering pizza and I have no clue what is going wrong...

If anyone may have a clue or can help me through it over the phone possibly please PM me a number I could reach you at or I will PM you mine...

Also: I will be up until around 12-1 so it is not to late if someone can help me out a bit...

did you check your coilpack/plug wires?

I took out the wires like someone told me, put a spark plug in them and held them close to the VC...they were getting spark...not sure if that is checking them or not...

What else should I do...

I have also been told that it is a possible vacuum leak...
