What have you done to your P5 today?

lol, condensed version. New cam, software not loaded anywhere except on craptop in living room, software on said craptop unable to open billboard pic for resampling = server hog molecular level hubble telescope size pic. Runons are good for ya every now & then, exercises reading comprehension skills. Basically too busy to punctuate postings except at this hour.

There's a saying up here;

If Texans keep bragging on how big Texas is, we'll break into two states and then they will become the third largest state.
(band)

Twice?
Not nearly enough...
lol

You could probably get by with it depending on the geographical intelligence of the audience. Generally AK is associated with last frontier type cliches where TX is the everything's bigger bulls*** but yeah, go for it!

Just realized I have some condensation in the driver's side headlight. I've head these headlights since last June and this is the first time. It was exceptionally humid and rainy today so hopefully it will go away... Not likely...

My entire ps headlight has condensation in it. I've had this set for about a year or so with no issues also. It rained like hell last Monday and I guess the seal is shot...so back in the oven it goes.

That's what happened yesterday - rained like crazy and was really humid. I checked this morning and though it's still humid and raining outside I couldn't see any condensation. If it gets any worse I'm definitely going to have to try some fixes.

I checked the oil yesterday, it was dry. Just checked 2 days earlier and I "Thought" it was ok, but i hadn't let the car set long enough I guess before i checked.

Also, added about a gallon of water to the radiator. Oil temps are still at 220 after a little while of driving, and coolant temps at 180 cruising but still creeps up to 220 at idle, but i am due for an oil change, as well as coolant flush.

I'm also planning to get a new thermostat while i got the coolant out.

^^^ Probably not a bad idea at all. At least the coolant temps seem better. How's the oil pressure? Sucks about the oil being dry though. I guess it's welcome to the oil burning club for you.

Oil pressure is back to what I consider normal. 100psi on cold startup, 20 +/- 5 at idle, 40-60 cruising

Engine temps are normal at cruising speeds, but at idle they still creep up, but only to 220 tops instead of 240-250
Coolant is doo doo brown and smells like rust, so, i am sure that has something to do with it. I didn't see any oil in the overflow tank, and didn't notice any coolant on the oil dipstick (didn't notice ANYTHING on the dipstick actually)

So, oil change and coolant flush with thermostat swap is in the works for tomorrow after work

Also, would seafoaming it be a bad idea? Since I am doing an oil change, i figure why not.

Plugs too? Alrighty. Maybe i'll save it for this weekend then. Make sure the paycheck is in the bank.

To flush coolant,

drain, fill with water, warm up car to operating temps, drain again, and continue till I get clear water, right?

Then add my antifreeze/water?

Something else i noticed is i have slight corrosion around my Prosport Temp adapter block. The clamps are tight and there isn't a leak, but just slight corrosion lookin stuff

when I drained the radiator I just drained it and then just ran water through it till the water was clear. didnt actually start the car cuz in the grand scheme of things, thats plenty..

but if you're going to bring it up to temp make sure you have the heat on full...that way it cleans out the heater core and such...

If I"m gonna do it, i might as well just do it. Plus, it is VERY doo doo brown and smells uber rusty.

Now i gotta find the SeaFoam "How-To"

seafoam how to:

-pull off brake booster line.
-fill a cup w/ 1/3 of the seafoam can
-insert end of brake booster line into cup
-have someone turn on car and feather throttle to keep revs up and from stalling
-once all is sucked up, shut off car, reconnect brake booster line
-let sit for 10-20 mins
-start car and go for drive until you no longer have a James Bond smoke screen.

which is the brake booster line? I need pics :(

And once smoke screen is gone, do oil change?

Isn't there a few other places to seafoam too?

I find it easier to start the car w/ the brake booster line off (it will run, just not well) then use 1 hand to rev the car using the throttle under the hood and the other to hold the seafoam cup (or Jen will help sometimes and hold the cup while I rev it under the hood)

bah, its the big vaccuum line comming fromt he brake booster. no pics.

after smoke is gone, change oil and plugs.

putting it into the brake booster is plenty...

Which hose?

You shouldn't have to change the oil if your only doing throught the bb line to the intake and/or adding it to the tank to clean the fuel system only if you do the crankcase. You will also have to sip a little at a time while blipping the throttle or it can bog and die.

its the one that connects in this region (cant make it out exactly in this pic) and runs back towards the passenger side
