What have you done to your P5 today?

lol sick of it?
Not necessarily - it's a blast to drive and I still love it but I'm finding myself looking more and more for a "grown up" car lately. I also want something the is already relatively fast so I can tastefully mod it to be faster without killing it's driveability. I constantly find myself looking at MS6's, Legacy GT's, 335i's and G35/37 sedans. I'd love to stay with Mazda and get a MS6. Just do full bolt-ons, wheels and a drop and call it a day. No boost increases, tuning, turbo upgrades or whatever. Oddly enough, I'm also trying to replace my '86 Toyota pickup. I really need something that doesn't require me to take 10 minutes to warm up in the morning when it's cold outside.

Score, pick up the injen intake Thursday after work. Now we have matching intakes as well. lol

I was looking at those as well however their out of my price range on a 3-4year loans with decent mileage on them.

I'd love to keep it and work on it but it's got the auto transmission. I don't know how difficult swaps are with those trucks but convention tells me it isn't worth it. It probably needs a full rebuild anyway...

Aw, I'm just jackin with ya. Mine's 5spd with auto rear end so I've got gears for days, carb, all gokartlike with only R12 AC stealin any power. Love it! Nothin I haven't had apart down to replacing gearbox bearings & cab/bed swap. Simple simple simple to do anything on. Never givin it up! Pretty close to payin off the P5(323F) too & I don't really fear anything much on it other than the inner workings of the sport auto tranny.

i took apart my spoiler and added weather stripping to help w/ the rattle. also tightened some belts. i checked the bolts on my new carbon fiber hood and realized the shop didnt tighten them very tight, so i fixed that.

ive had a squeeky rattle noise coming from the hood latch area ever since i got the hood put on. it sounds like the latch is rubbing against the hook. does anyone know how i might be able to fix this without compromising the safety of the hood?

Drove home and had a few things happen

Oil pressure drops in a right hand corner and bounces all over the place. Normally, it was at 100 psi at startup unti lthe oil warmed, now it is at 60, and 10 at idle. Oil level is good. I am still 500 miles shy of my 3000K mile change, plus, i have added a quart a week or so ago, it was low.

Oil temp spikes at 250 as well

Second, sitting at a light and i see my engine temp spike up to 250, and then teh stock coolant temp gauge starts to rise, then stops and comes back down (no fans or anything kicked on) and coolant temp peaked at 250.

Then, i accelerated away and i now hear a metal on metal noise on the higher rpms, and, now that I am home, i have a VERY definite ticking.

no, didn't blow the motor. Part of the front of the motor cracked and chipped.

I am not having the best time with this car.......

the inserts were a breeze! Especially getting the driver's side out! Then stretching em over! lol

I'm now getting a grinding noise when I turn the wheel in extreme to BOTH directions. This didn't always happen - I'm not sure what would cause this. There doesn't appear to be any wear marks on the fender liners...
