What have you done to your P5 today?

i drove 1600mi in one day (800mi without a hood) got it brand new still in the box for $375 (plus gas about $100)

did I read that right? 1600 miles in a day, 800 of which were without a hood? That's going 80 mph for 20 hours...and you drove hoodless?! wtf? (freak)

and gas $100? That's less than two tankfuls given the current gas prices, so that would mean you averaged about 900 miles per tank?

explain yourself...

lol, thats what I was saying.

one bolt away from dropping the transmission. goin to the dealer tomorrow to buy the new shift fork. hopefully be back on the road sat if i can get the part by then

Frustrated

Tried and tried to loosen the bolt to my driver side fog light but couldn't. I think this is the last original front driving light to burn out, but I just don't have the equipment to change it myself.

Now just sitting back, watching the Wings and having a brew. (drinks)

buy the bolt loosener stuff from autozone. Soak it a couple times. Worked for me and mine were really rusted on there. I didn't really have the tools either.

Thanks

I'll try that. I've been soaking it in WD40 all day cause it's what I have and it says it can but obviously it can't.

Also just rolled 80000 miles the other day.

rust buster, and a friend used coke too! that stuff can eat away rust/corrosion like no tomorrow!

I've used Coke to get rust off my driveway. It's ridiculous.

I'm not sure why so many people have been trying to use a lubricant to act as a penetrating agent.

WD-40 is great at lubricating and cleaning, but, you gotta use PB Blaster or similair to get the rusty bolts free.

Once you've used it, you'll swear by it!!

You beat me to it. WD40's just going to make it slippery, it's not going to break through rust.

I was up until 12 last night converting my 2bar fuel maps to 3bar.

It's running 100x better than Juans maps after I smoothed out all the jagged edges!!

(dance)(dance)

I really need to wash mine. She's got a veritable shag carpet of bugs from the drive through South Carolina on the way back from Charlotte yesterday. It sounded like we were under automatic very, very, very small arms fire. The car's just nasty now :(

I may run to lowes to pick up a halfway decent nozzle for the hose (the one I've got leaks like crazy) tonight and get that crap off of muh baby ;)

I also noticed, speaking of gauges, I found one of my rattles. Apparently 1 of my DaveB gauge rings worked its way loose, because the center one flops back against the plastic on hard acceleration, so I've got to pull that apart and put them back on.

I used Model Glue to put them beasts on my car. I don't think they'll rattle free, but, time will tell

I haven't heard of the DaveB ones breaking free at all actually, so it may be that I didn't press them on all the way when I installed them.
