What have you done to your P5 today?

yea, yea..P-5 correct. I have AWR trailing arms, Espilier springs, v-brace kit and tokico blues...but, the only difference between the MSP and P5 subframe is just a small mounting tab measuring about 2 or 3 mm.
I guess the Racing Beat swaybar is just designed differently then. Interesting; I've never read that or heard of anyone reporting this anywhere. Well, I'll make due with the AWRs but I also have some OEM endlinks that should be on the way as well just in case I don't like the AWRs.

Are you gonna do the clunk fix with the firewall grommets to keep'em quiet or has that issue been eliminated? I remember back a ways where that was a problem with the AWR's. There was even a how-to for the fix.

the racing beat sway bar is designed differently, hence its different endlinks. its oriented more down than the stock, and it has about an inch longer endlinks.

I don't know yet. I know AWR has released at least one revision with the endlinks. I won't really know until I install them and see how they work. I'm just going to try to install them with the least amount of stress and binding possible and see how that goes. If they do prove too noisy, I may just try the grommet-fix (thanks Brian MP5T) and if that doesn't help I'll probably just go back to using the stockers.

Buy a big box of O-rings, and put as many of the bloody things as you can on there. It helps, trust me.

Hey O.G.sk8er, Dont worry about the mixup, you did not know. Basically the progress sway bar ends are just longer as I believe some of you mentioned above. I will just have to put it back to the way I had it but this time I will adjust the endlinks so the sway bar ends are as close to the the lateral links as possible to have them more parallel to the ground as possible. I will let you guys know what works.

Just talked to the mechanic. He put the motor back together and is going to pull it and the trans out of the car. He said there is crap all over the place inside the motor. So, he's just gonna pull the whole motor for the warranty guy to come look at. It NEEDS a new motor he said

I asked about upgrades, IE the new forged motor from Protege Garage. He said we'll cross that bridge when we get there. He said it might be easier to get forged pistons and rods over thew hole motor, but, we'll see. He also told me if I wanted to upgrade the clutch, or anything, now's the time. Labor costs are going to be tack'd onto the warranty company. So, i'll be ordering all new motor and tranny mounts, possibly a new clutch, and afew other goodies.

I'll keep ya'll posted.

Oh, and, no more minivan. They got me into a new Avenger. YIPPEEEEE

Yup. The mechanic thinks I might be able to pull off the SpeedCircuit motor if I pay the difference. Teeheehee. I never thought I'd be so happy that my motor is about to blowup.

Now, quick question, if I were to get the speedcircuit motor, I'd get the 9:1 compression pistons. I don't ever plan on boosting more than 14 psi. It does not come with a head. Can I use my stock head? Or will it need some work?

And, the possibility of not getting the speedcircuit motor, would forged rods and pistons be enough for low boost application? What else should I upgrade while the motor is out?

Took it to the car wash! So shiny!

Also, vacuumed it. It's a much happier car now. :D

Well, after researching the SpeedCircuit engine, I don't have a month to wait on the motor to be built, so, I'll be upgrading the motor the warranty company wants to get. I'm gonna have the mechanic quote a new short block from Mazda, MSRP'd at $3200. Then order the same motor through Ken at Protege garage and use the difference plus a little money from me for the forged pistons and rods.

Oh, and here's my new ride for at least the next week.

sweet loaner. I would trade my car for that.

I wouldn't...until an SRT version of the Avenger comes around i'm hands off...the 2.4 world i4 isn't impressive, the 3.5L is hardly "high output", it handles like a tank, weighs about as much as one too, oh and Dodge trannies FTL

It's a decent rental. I'd NEVER trade the Pro5 in on this thing though!! See how I like it by the end of next week.
