What have you done to your P5 today?

Adjusted the angle of the short ram intake, now it rubs against the coolant bottle on takeoff, although that is better than it rattling against the plate that holds the coolant bottle. Tomorrow will be more adjusting. Then I went to the family christmas dinner, damn snow tires are loud on dry highway.

i locked her up in my garage for 5days while im on xmas vacation...poor baby, i'll see you when i get back home... heh heh

Got a few goodies for the car. My wife put together a very well thought out gift. The package included: one roll of paper towels, glass cleaner, soap refill for my Mr. Clean car wash, tire gel and a Nautilus two tone air horn! :)

I also got another set of three ton jack stands and $110 worth of Sears gift cards for some badly needed tools. Just need to figure out what I need. haha

Polished the s*** out of my corksport front strut tower bar, and then installed it. Also put in a set of sylvania amber turn signals.

got my UDM =)

polished her up

Now thats the money shot right their!

Dropped her off for a timing belt replacement and some other things. There are just some things I'd rather not have to do...

+1.....I don't touch stuff like the timing belt. Too much can go wrong and I'm not ASE certified lol (freak)
Exactly. I'm certainly no stranger to working on this car but when it comes to timing and electrical stuff I tend to stay away. I agree too much can go wrong not to mention there's just a whole lot of stuff you have to get through just to change one belt. With this, I am happy paying the dealership to do it. Besides, it's also my excuse to get various diagnostics and engine cleanings done...

Got a special gift from santy clause for the P5. A set of 10k HID's!

Not the actual pic of them but they are being shipped right now so that will have to do. I will update with some install pics when I get them

Got her back from the dealership. New timing belt, water pump, brake fluid, etc. I also had them check my oil pressure because my gauge was reading lower and lower with time. Even though my pressure was just a little low (50-52 psi at 3000 RPM whereas the FSM says it should be between 57-70 psi at 3000 RPM) the tech said it should be fine. Now I have to figure out what it wrong with the gauge/pressure sending unit. I also ordered some gaskets from www.onlinemazdaparts.com and spent about half as much as I would have at the dealership (I even checked!). Overall it's good to have her back and she seems to be running a little more smoothly. Needless to say I'm quite happy :) Now I just have to wait for my oil system components and IM and stuff come in and then I get to have more fun!

On a side note she puts a smile on my face when I know she can break the tires loose from a roll in 2nd gear. Because of the lack of LSD I can pretty much spin through 1st and 2nd and chirp 3rd. That should change shortly...

Nice Jeff,

Here are some pics for where I cut the grill to make room for the Air Horn.

The red circle is what I trimmed. The yellow is a support hole so don't cut that away. PM me if you have questions

Thanks Bruce. Going to start cutting now... :)

**edit**Nautilus horn is installed. Thanks again Bruce for the insight. One of the reasons I hesitated to cut was I wasn't sure if the new horn bracket went horizontal or vertical for our application.
