What have you done to your P5 today?

Took the front shocks off, trying to get the endlink bolt off the driver's side swaybar. Got the GCs off the Illuminas to put stock springs on. Halfway thru taking off the rear shocks, next will be removing the rear AWR swaybar and taking off those GCs to put stock springs and rear swaybar back on. If I've got all the parts, the Injen will come out and the stock intake will go back in. My car is going to feel so weird...

I didnt get eny p5 goodies, im going to have to treat myself, wonder what i should get??? (thinkbeer

NCZ, the car looks sweet dude!

omg man. tell me your secret! lol id love to make my car shine like that
step 1: don't quote incredibly long posts on forums. It will invariably lead to keyed paint, and possibly large dents made by fellow forum members. The problem is that you can't really polish anything really well with dents. Buffers have a hard time getting in all the intricate nooks and crannies.

EDIT: Just realized this was in in the P5 section (thought photo/video for some reason). Took the liberty of tidying that up. Sorry, it's a pet peeve that I have the power to change! muhuhuhahahahahahahaha

thanks you guys
ive been really into detailing since for the past year, and i got the polisher i wanted for christmas ( i just showed my mom what i wanted)

heres my process:
ice car wash w/ wool mitt
dried with microfiber
polished w/ pinnacle XMT #3 via orange pad
glazed w/ pinnacle carnuba glaze via black pad
sealed with megs #21 via black pad

the best way to keep a really good shine is to pay attention what you touch and wash your car with. luckily the hand detailing (never again) and polishing i did kept the paint in pretty good condition. but a DA polisher makes all the difference. imagine when working polish in by hand, how many passes you make with your hand in a minute. w/ a polisher, the polish is worked in at about 3-5k rpm. try doing that by hand ha.

yeah the process took about 5 hours, and that was only a 2 step polishing process.

you can see the winter wonderland i had to deal with in that roof reflection shot ha.

poor me. it was a bit warm out today =P

why are you going to stock?
HS prep
All 4 corners are out now. Had to place a 2 day order w/ Mazda Motorsports for front strut bushings and the front swaybar end link that is dead. The P5 has to be out of the garage before Sat. when Moxnix and his co-driver do a Koni swap on the RX-8.
