What have you done to your P5 today?

Man, I am laying in bed right now on the laptop, lmao. That means no pics today, lol, I'm too damm tired. But yeah it looks pretty damn good. But the reason I didnt toss the car around was you were in it plus all the parts from taking the intake out were in the back. But I might stop by Tophers house later tonight if he gives me a call and try out some twisties up there. But man this bed never felt so good, lmao.

Put her up on stands and painted the calipers with some Folia-Tec red. Also gave the wheels a good cleaning front and back since they were off the car.

good job jeff!
my car has been in the garage for two days....so no love here...:(

got some nice skin cancer causing sunburn action.. since I was outside from 8am-6pm at the autocross. .. lame haha

on the dry with proper tire pressure, my car drove like a dream. I don't need to worry about more mods to make my car feel better driving at all, it's the driver skill that needs improving :P

I'll start the photo upload in a few minutes but then I need to get to bed... so I dunno if you're bored just check http://www.flickr.com/photos/clauretano to see if they are up yet.

yuh think? :p

Today I installed some clear corner lights (before the game started of course):

Interestingly enough, they didn't fit properly with the given orientation. I had to switch the sides around, as well as turn them upside down before they went on. On top of that, I had to file down a couple tabs on the back of each light, but guess what? They fit perfectly... No gap, on tight, and look great!

Also detailed her, cleaned the MAF sensor, and replaced the K&N drop-in air filter with a regular one. The K&N did pretty much nothing and it's not worth keeping it in and having to worry about the MAF possibly getting oil buildup.

Got the left arm tanned too driving in the nice sunny weather... (sun)

Man I keep thinking today is Monday. Anyways, how's the car feel autoxing with the turbo? Did you autox it much before boost?

BadKarma, black mica FTW. It looks so good when it is clean (thumb)

That looks really nice! The best-looking alternative to buying and painting an MSP bumper cover.

Today I finished installing my modified MSP shift rod and knob and Redline shift boot. The MSP shifter is too short--didn't want to reach too low so I lengthened it 1.5". Now the MSP knob is about 1.5" shorter than stock P5 shift knob height. If you're interested, the result is shown here and in the attachment.

yay finally clear pics with my s-techs.. no, that isn't a shadow on my tires, the tires are that rubber-band like and there is that much wheel gap.

like I said, raised the rear quite a bit. I'm happy :)

Lookin' good! Looks like the fabric kinda matches the fabric of the seat bolsters...does it?

Also, why'd you go with the MSP shifter instead of a kartboy or B&M short shifter?

Yeah the fabric matches almost perfectly--you can only tell the shift boot is slightly darker if you hold it next to the seat bolster. After installation, you can't tell at all.

I didn't go with a short shifter because it's not in tune with my modding philosophy. I like to sit halfway between stock and tuner. Subtle mods FTW. Plus, the MSP unit will go easier on my synchros. :)

Yesterday... took her up and around Mt. Tabor here in western VA for some of the hardest running she's ever been through as part of the VT car club bi-annual after-carshow cruise. About 150 total miles of the most curvy and altittude-varying roads I have ever seen - after the first leg my rear brakes were smoking and boy was that engine hot after keeping her up around 5k RPM most of the time. I wish I had some pics but unfortunately I was focussing more on driving at the time... So anyway, does anyone know of some pads that are better than stock but still have good day-to-day performance and little brake dust? I know nothing about brake pads...

got her a new parada spec II and found out the rim had a slight ben in her...all fixed and ready to go back on the car! as soon as they fix the damn pot holes!(sad1) they are my nemesis!!

Not to detract from Chris' cool photos, going back to my new shifter...

I noticed three things: Shifts smoother due to increased mass of shift knob, throws shorter due to reduced shift rod height, and finally, gear whine is now audible particularly in 5th. Did I torque the linkage under the car too hard?
