What have you done to your P5 today?

BTW, my local dealer quoted me about $6.75 a piece for the NGK ZFR5F-11's... Is that really what the dealers are charging??? (omg)
All I could think was "F* that. Pep Boys here I come!" ($2 each)

we should start a dealership.. between denying warranty work and charging 7 dollars for a copper spark plug, we could make a KILLING!

who's with me?

Yeah my buddy just told me he has some paint to smoke the lenses. Why didnt he tell me before I ordered and applied the VHT. Anyways, its in the works!
Mine are tinted with the VHT, followed by a few layers of clear coat. Not sure why it's still so matte looking... I don't mind it, but it does look a little better when it's shiny to match the rest of the car. May have to try and re-clear them to see if that helps any...

youd be surpised at what ppl will pay for at dealerships. i make my living working on car and it werent for clueless ppl, id have a hard time making ends meet. rich ignorant ppl FTW!

I don't even bother calling the dealership for parts anymore. After getting the quote in my last post for the endlinks and nuts, I got a quote for two "fuel rail thermal insulators", $12.00 a piece + special order fees. Mind you these are nothing more than a plastic compound spacer with a freaking 8mm diamter hole through the center. Thieving bastards. I wish I got $45.00 for watching someone's oil drain for 10 mins while I popped in a new air filter and oil filter. Oh, and $65.00 for a coolant flush? You can do those simultaneously in less than 30 mins.

i got a mazda coupon flyer in the mail yesterday or whenever and theres a coupon for a like 25 dollar oil change. plus they will top off all essential fluids and do an inspection. is this worth it? sounds like good deal to me

dealerships suck bawlz.

the dealershit i bought my p5 from offered free tires for life if you stuck to a regular maintenance schedule with them. at 30k miles, pay $300 for a checkup. at 60k miles, pay $600 for a checkup. anybody else see the flaw in this? free set of $400 tires if you spend $900 for $20 worth of work.

ATTN: Kinsel Mazda in Beaumont
From: AlteredMP5
Subj: Try the Vaseline approach next time
Body:
$420<$900

that is all.

but then you are selling your soul to the root of all evil in America.. but that's for another thread I guess :)

I hope my P5 is nice and warm with her engine block heater on tonight.. especially now that the new water lines to the turbo are hooked up.. just unplug in the morning and she's ready to go! wee

hows the terbow feeling kansei?

that statement could be taken the wrong way.. terbow aka Tony from RI.. on these forums haha.

after running the coolant lines and putting a missing bolt into my turbine housing on the turbo.. it's drastically quieter and mind-blowingly fast.. I need to get her dynoed ASAP so I can know if I need to get a custom wastegate actuator fabbed so I can run a lower boost than the 7psi (at the intake manifold, so I dunno.. maybe 8 or 9 at the turbo) of my current wastegate.

The turbo is at full bore by 2500RPMs though, it spools so crazy fast it's WILD.

if the roads weren't all covered with ice and snow I'd really be able to feel it.

i would NEVER go to walmart for an oil change. we are talking about a place where anybody can get a job and change your oil. would you really want to drop your car off at aplace were the local crack head can get a job there that was referred there by his probation officer? ive seen stripped oil pans, wrong oil filter installed, under and over filled oil, improperly balanced tires, stripped studs, ect ect ect come outta wal mart only to have to pay twice a much to have us fix it correctly. to each his own but id never trust them

I don't. I'm a working on cars n00b and I trust myself more than any dealership guys (ughdance) because I care about the car, not the money (since I'm not making any fixing my car haha)
