What have you done to your P5 today?

I followed my old P5 today. It was kinda sad and upsetting. The chick was smoking in the car (not to mention she is a litterbug [she tossed her butt out the window]). It was disgraceful to see a feathered lei hanging from the mirror.

It was the only yellow one in the area with 205/50/16 Hankook snows. I was hoping that she was going to the same place I was so I could ask her how she liked it and if the dealer fixed the transmission for her. It also had some pretty distinctive scrapes on the top of the rear bumper.

Got four new rotors today and woww braking is amazing now..
can't believe I have never changed them
I have soo much more control

also raced my friend in his 96 mustang gt
haha that was fun

Some of us wear things out on our Proteges :P

lucky you, you'll never have to change your timing belt haha.

Today I just drove to work and such. Something is up, my car sounds a little different. I don't know if it's because I have a sinus infection and my hearing is a little off or if something is going on. I doubt my EGR needs cleaning, I just did it 1k miles ago haha. Oh well I'll check on that while working on the clutch install later this week.

Oh and I finally scanned in my security system install manual since someone on here was looking for it. Here's a link to the thread with the PDFs http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123655604

so what's uup with the sound, or is it in your head??:)

Is it colder than it has been? Mine sounds a LOT different when it's cool vs hot outside

i loaded bags of clothes into the hatch to be donated. i never realized i have enough clothes i don't wear to fill the hatch.

actually, yes.

but usually once it's totally warmed up it sounds the same. I'm going to go to the grocery store right now so I'll see how she is.

Even after it's warmed up, it sounds different when it's cold vs. warm ambient temp.

yeah but it's really different.. I dunno it seemed ok today but my drive was really short so everything didn't get totally warmed up.

Bad news though. I just found out that the random bolt that fell out of my transmission was serving a purpose. I just checked the how-to for removing the tranny since I have a clutch that needs some installing, and well:

" Then you can remove the two side bolts that are holding parts of the rods on the inside. "

so as I feared, something in my tranny is now not being held in place. bah! Oh well, it still drive fine, as long as it is ok until I get a new tranny/lsd

um...why not replace it?

Well I put a bolt in to plug the hole when I was at Mark's house, but whatever on the inside was being held in place by it is probably just floating around inside the tranny right now. It's just some bolt, I can't even begin to figure out what it's part number is. I'd need a blown up diagram of the tranny, and still I'm not going to fix it until I have an LSD to put into my tranny.

is it 1 of the bolts on the bell housing? I don't think those hold anything but the tranny to the engine.

Another update for my car- I ordered a new Pioneer Head unit and XM receiver for it. Still trying to find the perfect HU... :)
