I think he tried to jack up hiscar using the brake line clip on their trailing links which may or may not explain the tire situation.
yes, I did exactly that, except I didn't "try" to jack up my car... I DID jack up my car. Now I could start spewing excuses, but they all end up meaning that I was Stpid and tried to rush through the simple task of changing to my winter shoes.

For those in the "non-know", the trailing link is a very flimsy piece of metal and the brake line clip is almost exatly in the middle (weakest point)... It is bent bad enough to rub on my tire and that I cannot move my car without risking blowing my tire.

I have baked my headlights THREE TIMES haha and never needed extra.. couldn't hurt though. I should do it a fourth time, the second time I sanded/painted my driver's side headlight it came out a little crappy. I was in there getting out broken glass from my luminics bulb.. ugh catastrophic bulb failure.

I'll try to get pics for you... it will have to wait until next week though since it is dark and cold out, and I am in the middle of packing for my trip to Wichita EARLY tomorrow morning.

If I did need spacers, where would I get them and how much are they usually?

They are usually pretty cheap (~$30). Try ebay, or Jegs (that's where I got mine). Hubcentric ones would be better if you plan on using them much.

Everyone does their first time. I still have mine since I didn't need them when I went to HIDs, but I'll need them eventually when the car needs to be sold (.. I really don't want that day to ever come). I don't think the part would be much from Mazda though, check www.onlinemazdaparts.com to get a price quote.

Thanks so much for the help! I called Southern States Mazda in Raleigh, and they wanted $20 a piece for those retainers. Onlinemazdaparts was selling them for $7.50 a piece. That really helps out!

Now to figure out what type of h7s to buy. Anyone seen the Slyvania Silverstar Ultras, yet. They're new, but $49, per pair..

Have yet to see the Ultras in person. I was able to pick up silverstar's for $20 at my local Walmart. They had about 20 pairs marked at that price. I went back a few days later and the shelf was still marked $20 but each package had a sticker with a $30 price tag. Someone goofed in my favor. :) I have bought 3 sets of silverstars and have yet to pay retail. If you have the time, try ebay....sometimes there are some good buys on 'em. I have even seen the Ultra's on there go for under $40.

I wouldn't bother with anything Sylvania. If you want looks, they are ok for that. If you want lighting performance, get OSRAM Silverstars from http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk

They are clear, no blue coating.. yet they have the same light color temp as Sylvania Silverstars just by using better materials and making more light output.

If you really want lighting performance get HIDs, 5000K or 6000K :)

They sort of are the same company. They sell bulbs in Europe under their Osram brand though. For some reason they just sell the "ricey" (no offense to anyone here.. I've owned them before myself) Sylvania Silverstars here..

Hence why the web site I posted is a .co.uk.. they have free international shipping though :)

They have some Sylvania ultra white (or something, I can't remember) that I put in when I replaced my lows. Best bulbs I've owned so far. Only had it about a month, but there's a visible difference b/w them and other cars on the road. There's no yellow in the light at all. They have a REALLY pale blue tint on them (not the dark blue of the "regular" sylvanias)

Well, while at Wal-Mart today, I found a stash of h7 silverstars for only $8.32 per 2 pack!
Couple this with the $5 rebate, and my bulbs will end up being near-free.

For some reason, they were clearanced down from 37.99. There's nothing wrong with them. They had like 6-7 packs in the clearance area. I may go pick the rest of them up and eBay them, or something...

Or if anyone wants some, you can PM me and we'll see what we can do!

at least if they end up sucking, I'm not out anything big.
