What have you done to your P5 today?

Finished my new grill and did cable43's wiper mod. Retrofitting the grill w/ factory mesh sucks ass but is worth it in the end. The wiper mod is the easiest thing I have done yet. I think both turned out great! Let me know what you think.

New grill w/ OEM bottom grill painfully inserted.....

Oooohhhh......I love the P5 stock headlights. So fresh and so clean, clean .
the grill looks very good on the classic red. makes me think twice about the cf version

was there a bear co-driver (peep)
no, but it would have been freakin funny. I totally didn't think of that, what with being late as crap and all

washed her for the first time in a week... finished off valve cover.

I actually haven't driven my car since Friday afternoon. The weather was really bad yesterday (Saturday) with the remnants of that tropical storm garbage plowing their way through. Today I technically drove the car but just to get it out of the garage so I could spend the entire day cleaning in there. Pics soon :) but first I'm going on a freakin drive now that the roads are starting to dry a little bit :P don't wanna get the car really dirty even though I'm probably going to wash/wax/detail the car tomorrow on my day off.

If that's true, after sitting outside for 10 weeks mine ought to be freakin bullet proof now!

Speakin of sitting outside for that long, my rotors were rusted so bad it wasn't even funny. Had to take a few laps around the parking lot to get them cleaned off. Felt like I had no brakes for the first few stops.

Damn, looks really nice. I might actually have to do this now because the ugly rear wiper has been bugging me since I bought her. Grille looks amazing too - I might have to consider this now too. Also, cool 323 badge, I've been looking for a 323F badge for fricken ever!

On another note I have done absolutely nothing to my car in over three weeks - damn college. What makes matters worse is that I have an oh-so-nice MAM midpipe which I waited for all summer sitting back at my house... 310 miles east of me...

this is probably going to sound a little silly, but today i did my first oil change on my P5, with the help of a friend. filter was on damn tight; took us about 10 minutes to get it off. after that though, smooth sailing. the hardest/most time consuming thing about doing it is jacking up the car. :)

also changed out my foglights. i don't mean the bulbs, i mean the entire fog light. picked up an extra stock set for dirt cheap, so in they went and my originals came out. one of the bulbs was burnt out in mine, but due to mazda loc-tighting one screw in each, i couldn't change out the bulbs (stripped the screw).

not silly, good for you for doing it. When you change filters make sure the old o-ring(gasket) comes off with the old filter. Once in a blue moon the gasket will stick to the engine and if you don't notice you will put the new filter on and will encounter an oil leak(due to improper seal).

the ghetto way is to use a belt, like the one around your fat waist and use it as a strap wrench. then again 15 for some oil filter pliers from sears is a good investment too

I (in the days where I didn't live in an appartment complex that is a car nazi :() used to just use my hands. I tried using the filter wrenches and stuff but there was never enough room to move it much.

i use my hands. the way the filter is positioned makes it to damn akward for me to get to it with my big arms. i burn them on everything

not nice to speak to a lady in such a way (enguard) . Some cars once you've gotten the filter off and the oil changes are routine a wrench isn't needed plus with limited space can't really use one. They do sell some that attach to the end of a ratchet and slide around the filter(less space needed)

Exactly, I hand tighten my filters every time. Just be sure to spread some of the oil around the new filter ring to get a tight seal.

I actually meant to give you credit but forgot. Yeah....your grill was my inspiration. It looks sooooo much better than the small mesh that comes w/ grill.

Thanks bro. Totally agree about the mesh. The end result is so much better with the OEM mesh. Props for a clean looking P5.

that's exactly what we did, just hand tighten the filter. i'm pretty tiny (5'1"), but even for me to try and get a wrench in there would be a tight fit.

thx for the support guys and no flaming; i know it's a minor thing, but i still feel pretty good having finally done it.

haha, thanks but no offence was taken... the comment was made as a generalized one, in a joking fashion :) no worries
