What have you done to your P5 today?

the damn tranny should break before THAT happens! Wow...that's a new one. That's just the rear main seal plate though. Is there any damage to the block from that?

Don't know yet. As soon as he gets the approval to continue the tear down, we'll see how the block looks.

lol I meant damage behind the crank rear main seal plate, or whatever you want to call it...

So excited!! I just received my UDP and drive belts. Should have them on in a couple of weeks. Guess I can change my user name now :)(nana)

Well, if you remember or not, about a month ago, I broke the purge solenoid installing my SRI. Well, about that time, something smashed the spark plug shut and was only running on 3 cylidners. Took it to the mechanic and ordered a new solenoid from Jason at onlinemazdaparts.com. Mechanic swapped em and put a new plug in and i drove away fine, till I put gas in the tank. After everytime I put in gas, the motor would choke, sputter, misfire, then die. Let it set a second, start it again and keep the revs above 2000 and I was alright, till the third time I filled up with gas.

Filled up, started, it sputtered, popped, and died. Started again and I got a CEL flashing at me, and, it feels like it's on 3 cylinders again. I take it to autozone, 1/4 mile away and get the CEL checked. It was a misfire in cylinder 3 now, was 4 last time.

Take it to the mechanic from autozone. He starts it the next day and it starts knocking like a dog. So, now we're in the process of finding out if I get a new motor or not. It's gonna throw a rod within a week if I kept driving it. Mechanic only starts it to move it in and out of the bay and he's affraid to even do that.

So, now, we wait. The motor is pulled and he should have someone from the warranty company come check it out tomorrow. I hope I need a new motor
I was going to go forged, but, my wallet isn't going to let me, so, I'm hoping to pick up a new motor from Ken at Protege Garage, and a clutch and flywheel and tranny mount from AWR in the process.

Time will tell. I"ll post up a pic if he's got the motor aprt tomorrow.

Holy s***..all that over a SRI? jeebus...SRI FTL

It wasn't due to the SRI, it was just all coincidental at one time. SRI didn't have anything to do with it actually.

'Oh, and also installed an Acura RDX antenna...Only $6 from my local Acura dealer and it fits beautifully.'

Here you go...

Also, finally cleaned and waxed the P5 before the next snowstorm here in MA...What an effin long winter!

Got the Ziex 912's installed on the P5. Same size (205) as the Ziex 512's that were on there before, but way wider looking! Car looks sort of bad-ass now, the rubber really fills the wheel wells. I took before/after pictures, but the camera is at home, and I'm in class...
I'll post up later.

Oh, was also informed that the brakes are done on the P5. Rears are actually more worn than the fronts, which is odd unless I've done the fronts before. I honestly can't remember if I've done fronts or not on this car. Car has 43,000 miles.

..Guess I've got another project in front of me.

lol yeah i hear that....my lil bro just got a civic w/ rear drums...I told him i can service the front brakes, the rears, not so much lol
Yeah, I'm not really sweating it. I've done brakes. Disk brakes don't scare me. Drum brakes are not my friend, though.
