What have you done to your P5 today?

I got my P5 repo'ed today! I wanted to cry. I got behind on a payment because of rough finances and my wife loosing her job and trying to make morgage at the same time. I will get it back, just need to catch up on some payments. I feel sick to my stomache about the whole thing. Ironically we were working on my car when it happened. Two big as guys pulled up to my house with a clipboard in his hand and needless to say I got a bad feeling at that moment.

Sorry to hear that... I hope you have another way to get back and forth to work.

Yah, I am using my wifes car right now and she is carpooling to work. I get to call them today to see what it will take to get my car back

well i know its not over 100lb/ft which is what most tire places do. i only weigh like 150. i g2g watch my g/f sing tonight so i'll get one tomorrow and check it. what are they supposed to be at. 85?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got my carbon fiber hood installed and back today!! its amazing looks real good on the yellow p5. Next up new exhaust

A silver P5 passed me. I was all giddy thinking it was my ol' gal. To no avail though.

At least I get to work on other P5s. Sold my entire audio system to CrazeeD and all we had left to do was install the OEM sub. Had to hardwire it in. Easy enough and a huge improvement.

today: grounding wires, oil change, tranny fluid change (Redline MT-90), and tried to re-lube the rear sway bar bushings to stop them from squeaking, but couldn't get the bolts off. will buy a breaker bar tomorrow and try again

starting on saturday morning, i started the drive from Edmonton, Alberta to Wichita, Kansas. i'm in my car with my dog, and my parents are hauling the fifth wheel loaded with all my stuff. the trailer makes a great shield against bugs, lol.

drove all the way to my aunt's in a small hicktown in southwest Saskatchewan (Wymark, if anyone cares to look it up). turned over 100k km on the way there, so i took a picture for posterity. :) continued the journey on Sunday to my grandparents' here in southern Manitoba (Winkler, about a 1/2 hour north of the Canada/US border). saturday was fine, but halfway to my grandparents' on sunday i encountered a teeny tiny problem... called a CEL. i have NEVER, EVER, got one in my car until yesterday.

pulled over and checked out everything i could think of (gas cap - fine; oil level - fine; rad water level - fine; air filter - a little dirty, but still fine; etc). the car was driving normally, but when i popped the hood the 'tic-ing' from the engine was a little louder than normal and at idle she was a little rougher too. turning off the car didn't solve anything, so i reset the ecu and the CEL went away.

a couple hours later after filling up, the CEL came on again, so i checked the gas cap to make sure (fine). reset the ecu again, and crossed my fingers. CEL came on again a couple hours later, but we were about 1 hour away from my grandparents' so i just left it.

went to their mechanic this morning to pull the code: 2nd O2 sensor not reading proper (didn't catch the actual code, but the O2 sensor itself was fine the mechanic assured me). i was hoping it would either be this or the egr (ie, needing lubrication). put the car up on ramps, pulled off the non-fouler and found quite a bit of carbon in the non-fouler and on the O2 sensor, built up over the last 2 years. cleaned it, put everything back together again and though i haven't driven her much since (like 10km), she's running much better and so far, no CEL. keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again. i still have another 1500km to go before i get to Wichita (leave again Thursday morning for the border and south).

so a piece of advice to those with the non-fouler trick - take it off and clean it occasionally. :)

also, i found out that my car gets no better mileage cruising at 60mph for hours on end than it does when i'm going 70-75mph.
