Clutch clicking when you press it? You need to lube a part. Search for "clicking clutch" and you'll find pics of the part.amsgator said:so basically i have a huge mess on my hands....
my car is making a really screwed up noise...it's making a loud clicking noise everytime i start it and push the clutch. i am supposed to be going to Sebring tomorrow too and idk what to do. I am going to mazda tomorrow morning at 7 hoping they can see what's goin on, hopefully i just need a new clutch and its not the tranny. it stalled out for no reason while rolling to a stop sign, and i restarted it and it started that really loud clicking. it sounds like a really loud wheel of fortune spinning.
previously it would make a noise every time i took my foot off the accelerator, like a grinding noise kind of but pretty high pitched. and i think whatever that was finally went.i hope i can get it fixed so i can still leave tomorrow
I just felt like saying "Catastrophic _______ failure"Dim said:Edit: aMaff squeezed a post in before me
I'm not sure that it is a requirement, but it gets rid of the clicking for me. I did not do it myself, but my mechanic showed me the part that is under the rubber boot. He put grease there under the boot--the part that is "compressed" by the little black lever.aMaff said:I just felt like saying "Catastrophic _______ failure"
But you're saying the black metal piece that is pushed by the master cylinder needs to be lubed from time to time? Where?
aMaff said:maybe catastrophic throwout bearing failure? Usually they squeak for a long time before they finally give out...
