What have you done to your P5 today?

Well I got as far as I have with a 20 piece socket set, I think I'll be able to get to the mounts too ;)

I took my intake mani off by going up through a gap from underneath. If that makes any sense... It was pretty easy. How in the hell do the oil changes get done seeing as the filter is way up in there...

Oh well, im good for a few miles. :) just turned over 50 on the rebuilt motor!

And i may think about the FE3. but thats a looooooooooong shot considering how hard they seem to be to find. But keeping a 2.0 under the hood would be cool. Either way, mental puke going on over here :)

Grab a handful of rags or an old shirt and stuff it up under the filter to catch the remaining oil, grab a new glove, twist, and run. The shirt keeps the oil off the block, the glove keeps your hand from slipping on the filter, the twist... twists, and running keeps the oil off of your arm. Easy as pie... and I love pie.

My arm does not fit in the space available behind the block, I will need an oil filter wrnch or something. I had two women try it, and thier arms fit but they didn't have the torque to move it. So I will try again the next time I am under it.

If you're really good you can do it from the top of the bay too :p

Daydreaming about how black'd out sedan headlights with an H4 lo/hi 4500k 35w HID setup is gonna look on my car.......Got the lights cheap and already had the HIDs from my truck headlights. Already have side marker in the bumper so the one on the sedan lights will just be reflector for compliance purposes so no wiring move there. The harness for the lights should just plug into the ballasts already there running the H7s. Should be nothing but routing the harness and pluggin stuff in after swapping in the housings. Am I missing anything?...........................Gonna use the extra ballasts to convert fogs to 3000k 35w HIDs.

My P5 finally didn't start this morning! I have a 5+ year old battery and it was -27C when I left the house soooo I can't really complain.

I boosted it off of the Maxima (which barely started) and then headed off to work :)

yanked out defective Sony Xplod head unit, rewired harness to new Kenwood unit and popped it in - Yay for being able to use functions of radio again, also red illumination goes nicely with factory interior lighting.

been crazy cold here as well but my 2 winter cars started without issue this morning (-38C with wind), as for the P5 just buying small parts and fittings to make sure i have everything needed once it warms up a bit outside to start wrenching.

My car has started the last few mornings but not without some hesitation.

Got the bluetooth adapter installed yesterday over lunch. Overall works great but not happy with where I placed it since the controls are hidden by the steering wheel. Took these last night.

Pardon the messy garage. and I know I need to not only adjust the lamps but also black the housings out. I wanted different shrouds but they let enough light out to where it reflects off the bowl... Ill fix that come when I start driving her :)

also, what do you guys think would cause the heater to smell faintly of oil? Could my exhaust leak before the precat cause it to smell THAT bad, or could it also be coming from elsewhere?

Cheers :) I had some issues putting them in. I got it eventually but I guess its cause this is the first time I've ever mucked about with vinyls. And its probably gonna be the last too ;) unless I try and convert one of my reverse lights to a fog lamp. That's a massive if though... Wiring will probably be too difficult to be worth it.
