What have you done to your P5 today?

My P5's been sitting on jack stands for about 3 months now. The front ones are on the frame rails and the rear is where the trailing arm bolts to the frame. No issues.

3rd time ordering a bloody circuit breaker for her. VMinnovations suck but good customer service.

Thanks guys :) I got the thing jacked up on the front to rails. Just wondered if there's any other place I could do it at for it to be more secure. My moms flipping out cause I got it jacked up. Maternal instinct... I might get wrenching on it tonite. Gonna order parts for her too :)

Anywhere on the frame should be sufficient... rust pending.

GOOD call there. I jacked up my friends Taurus and almost put a hole through the frame rail. He sold it a week later since he was about to Flinstone it pretty soon.

It's okay, I jacked it up and put the tires under there in the event a jackstand fails...

I did a compression test, 180, 150, 180, 150... from right to left. So, I'm tearing her apart and going for a set of rings, gaskets and such. Got the oil drained and VC off as of now. I'll be plugging away at getting her apart providing I can keep funding the teardown and build. $400 on the parts so far. Anyone have the part No. for the head bolts? :) I'm getting the gasket kit from onlinemazdaparts, I don't see the bolts are included.

I know the gentleman that e-mailed me back said he'd look for a new engine but, mine's only got 84K on it... And I don't want to drop $4K ish into it to do a KL swap first. I'll get my mechanical experience from this motor :)

What paint do I use for the VC??? High temp paint I'm sure but can I still use the Rustoleum (sp.) paint?

Also, anything else I'll need? I've got gaskets and piston rings to order. Head bolts to find...

ALSO, here's a pic, just to keep me somewhat sane while I do this work. I'm gonna try and finish it within the month provided I can bother my pal about all the questions I have.

Isn't there the bracket missing here that allows the air bag to be bolted on?

Reply to Rico,
Yes there is. I remember seeing a how-to somewhere that someone replaced their wheel with a Nardi(w/o bag), and had to swap the bag into the Nardi wheel. Don't remember what it looked like. But yeah there appears to be holes where the bag+bracket bolt on. Keep searching. Someone has to have taken pics of their wheel disassembled.

Noticed the res was empty so I cleaned it up and made it easy to read.

Lookin good. I must say. Mine was caked in dirt and oil so I just wiped mine down. Might I suggest blacking out the COOLANT ONLY bit or does that not suit your fancy?

I did, its probably the lighting making it look undone. Also I just put some seasalt and tried to get a good amount on the surface of the inside then some water and lots of shaking and it cleaned up decently in like 5minutes worth of effort and another 10mins painting it with a paint marker(fine point) while hanging out talking.

Welp, Peggy the Protege has seen many of these last few months in the garage. This is due mainly to a warped PS Pulley that is getting replaced by the Medieval that I just purchased from 505zoom. My bumper is zip tied on(for now) because I'm wanting 5mm wheel spacers in the front, install my new fender-liners, and install the AAC bumper brackets(which I intend to do 1 time). It's not even funny how many parts I have in the car that need to be installed because I'm horrible with time management. I also still have the 626 intake mani that I recently did the VTCS delete and cleaned up some more. I'm thinking since that will be one of the last pieces to be installed, that I might do a light gasket-match port since I own a dremel. Here's a pic for the meantime:

P.S. Is it just me, or does anyone else seem to have a larger panel gap between fender/hood on one side than the other?

If you asked about panel gap btwn the rear hatch and fenders, I'd agree with you. I cannot vouch for the hood panel gap however :/ my front bumper is off and engine bits coming out.

Quickie: is it going to be okay if I cap off my EGR valve? :S I bent the pipe loosening the bolt thingy.

Also, I just spent $500 on parts to fix her :)

MP5stephen, you wouldn't happen to have a link to the thread you used to do the VTCS delete, would you?

Tried that. I'm preeettty sure my passenger fender is bent to hell. I tried adjusting the panels, with little to no success. :(

@KingOfSpades, there is a search feature for a reason. I actually think google helped me. try 'VTCS Delete' or 'VTCS Removal'

you need to find a plug for the hole that the rod of the valves runs through. I ended up finding a small nut and bolt combo, grinded it down to have a small head on the bolt(enough to keep it from slipping), and put that through on the inside, with the nut and a washer on the outside. i cranked it down real snug, and am hoping for no leaks. I also hand filed it on the inside more after being installed. I don't think thats the proper way to plug that hole, but at the time with the current materials, i felt it would work. you'll see what I mean if you have the 00 626 mani.

I know there's the search box and all but every time I use it I get s*** for results. Ill have a look around though. Dont take that the wrong way, im not trying to come across as snide. I just have crap luck using M247s search function.

Google, plus add mazdas247 to end of search...

just did that. Found that and info on my egr valve. I bent the pipe. If I have to replace it, I will. If I dont have to, no harm done :)
