What have you done to your P5 today?

You know what KYB stands for right?

Keeps You Bouncing

lol! I have them on the front of my P5 and they're not that bad, but I have no reference to compare them to because they were installed by the PO...

So if I want a replacement for the stock struts, should I be looking somewhere else? I just want something that mimics the original ride quality.

Nice score! I like my blues, but I'm rolling on the Eibach Pro Kit, so I'm not familiar with the springs from Tokico.

1.4" drop in front
1.75" drop in back
Spring rate is just a bit higher than Eibachs.

Should make my 18's finally look good in the wheel well, and bring me back to stock ride height instead of 1.3" lifted lol.

yeah i want more drop/ was thinking megans 2.0 all around lol

I looked at those, even with my 18's I could be slammed and never rub, but in utah with all the snow plows there are constantly pot holes. I didn't want to be so low that I could physically hit any other component on the under body.

I'm getting megans in a week or 2 for $80. Only 4 months old. I'm kinda scared about the high-ass compression rate, but they is one sweet drop. Either way $80 is a steal and I can rock them until I get some teins (that is, if I want to switch)

yeah no snow here to i might just do it. only thing is trying to see if i want to go back to 215/35/18 or what my best choice will be

got some new parts yesterday!

Wrapped Headers today. used DEI Titanium "lava" wrap. The previous was black fiberglass, soaked in water and wrapped, it crumbled like crackers when I pulled it off. The lava wrap is thin, I could see through it. Overlapped alot. used metal lock-ties, the locking type. pics are of old to new wrap.

covered power steering hoses today. two years ago my engine bay was blue. This year i'm going for green & black. i've started with the power steering lines and the main wire harness on top of the engine, it was already off since i'm replacing the intake mani with the single cast. pics are of the old blue engine bay and the start of green/black engine bay. I'm using texflex from wirecare.com, the green reflects in black light. post pics later.

^ i have that same horn!
i did have to make a bracket to lower it so it wouldnt be in the way of the grill.
if you need an idea how to do it just lemme know

BACK ON SUBJECT

That is an interesting EGR. My stock one sure didn't look like that....?

It's the "Canadian" EGR, two of those tubes are for coolant and the other is a vent. The body of it is also made of aluminum to prevent oxidation, it's a nice part :)

I installed one of those on my car when my old EGR was on its last legs, those bloody tubes make it even more of a b**** to install...

Ohh! That explains. Coolant? Weird? The only purpose and function is to recirculate exhaust gas into the cylinders for a complete burning of the fuel. I don't see why it would need a coolant line? Does it tap into the reservoir? My EGR is also aluminum with a plastic female plug. If you're boosted, why not just delete it and block it off? Wouldn't it be cheaper? Isn't it true that the EGR only really serves a purpose with NA engines? I might be wrong.

The way I understood how this new one works is that the coolant is there to keep the EGR warm in an effort to get all the condensation inside of it to evaporate out of the vent hose. It's a preventative measure to keep the valve from prematurely failing.

I think an EGR system can be useful on FI engines because the inert exhaust gas helps to prevent detonation. How it helps, I'm not sure ... perhaps someone can fill us in =/
